parking fees at Disney hotel

We are staying at the Disney California and Disneyland hotel. Are there fees for parking at the hotel or any other fees we should plan on?

Yes, there are parking fees. Valet parking is $10 per day for all three Disney hotels, regardless of the type of reservation you have booked.

If you have a PACKAGE reservation, then SELF-PARKING is free, included in the package cost.

If you have a ROOM-ONLY reservation, SELF-PARKING is included in your $5.75 Daily Resort Fee that will be charged to you upon check out (also includes newspaper, local phone and health club access).

Again, valet parking is $10 per day no matter what.

We have a room using our DVC points. I should then plan on a $5.75 day charge on the bill when I check out. For the 5.75 I can park the car myself. If I want the valet parking then it is $5.75 per day plus $10, correct? How far away is the self parking? I have been at many WDW resorts if that can help you explain the distance to me.

Self-parking is close enough that it (given all the walking you'll be doing anyway!) will seem like no big deal. If you're not going to be using your car, self-parking might make more sense. You can leave your luggage at the bell desk while you go back to park your car, so you won't have to lug it from the parking lot.

If you'll be using your car during your stay, it might be handy to have the car valet-parked, so they can bring it around for you. But, then, you've got to tip the guy who parks it and the one who brings it, so that can add up.

I believe the answer to your question about whether you would get charged both the resort fee and valet fee if you choose valet parking, is yes.

Thanks, I think on many of the days we will just be in the park but I think the self park is the direction we will go. Off the subject, Do you know if there are refrig at either of the hotels?

Yep....small size refridgerators (no freezers) are in the TV armoirs.

We were at the Paradise Pier hotel 8/24 and 9/8, and valet parking was $12/day.

Also, when we checked out on the 8/24 trip, we discovered the resort fee on our bill. The front desk clerk never mentioned it when we checked in. I called the front desk to have it taken off; and the clerk said the fee was for parking, newspaper, spa, etc. and I should have been given a flyer when I checked in. When I told her I valet parked our car & how could the resort fee cover my parking if they were charging me $12, she became quite flustered. I also said we would have used the spa, had we known we were paying for it. She repeated 2x that she couldn't remove the charge; then put me on hold, came back & said it would be removed.

Whenever you are staying at the GC on points, (I'm only POSITIVE about the GC, because that's where I always stay), the resort fee is completely waived. There should be no extra fee for parking (unless you valet), using the spa, making local phone calls or that type of thing. So, go and enjoy!

BTW, I believe this is mentioned on a separate sheet in your confirmation information.

I was just going to post a reply asking that. I got out my confirmation and letter and noticed that was written on it. Is the spa etc. also included. If so , what does the spa mean? This may be my only shot at going to a "spa"!

Yes, the use of the spa is included in the resort fee. The "spa" is a rather nice exercise room with lots of equipment and there are also two massage rooms. In the women's locker room there are lockers, showers, a steam room and a dry sauna. You can come in to use any or all of these amenities. TheSpa is located next to the game room, near the entrance to Calif. Adventure and near the pool.

I do have a menu of their massage services: a 30 min. swedish massage is $60, an hour is $90 and an hour and a half is $140. Other massages also offered, but are more expensive.
