Today is crunch time---last day to book the Buy 4 get 3 nights special and now I come across a $15 a day parking fee at Royal Pacific. Are there any ways to get around this?

We are only renting a car to get us from the airport to the hotel and back. What does a taxi cost from the airport to hotel? or even a limo service?

We are only planning a side trip to Sea World and from what I've read there is free transportation from the hotel for that, right?

Any info would be appreciated :)

when you stay on site, there is a free shuttle bus from the hotels to Sea World and Wet & Wild.

yes, it is $15 per day to park your car at the hotels.
it might be cheaper to use car service or a taxi.
car service could cost up to $45 + tip for one way.

this is the link for taxi service estimated costs.
not sure if they charge for mileage and time though.

http://www.mearstransportation.com/TaxiFareEstimator.asp

it lists $32.45 for one way.
it does not state how many people per cab.
you could call them to inquire.

that figure is an estimate. I don't know if the site estimate section has been updated lately. if it is current, it might be the cheapest way for you and your family.

it might be cheaper not to rent a car if you are staying 7 days on site.
you need to call around and get cost estimates.

I'm still a little confused about parking. With an AP you get free parking, but is this for the parking garage at the parks only, or onsite at the hotels too? We would be staying onsite and therefore would not be planning on parking at the parks, but rather, at the hotel. Just wondering if we would actually be able to use the "free parking" perk with the AP?

Nah even with AP you have to pay for parking at the hotels.

the preferred and premiere annual passes give you free parking at the garage.
no free parking for the on site hotels.
the ap perk is for the park garage parking only.

Since the hotels are not run by Universal, the parking fees are separate.

I am guessing that if you are a AP holder staying at one of the hotels you can not park your car at the garage for the length of your stay.

i assume cars are towed if left in the garage overnight.

I thought the SuperSaver promotion deadline was extended to Feb 28, 2009. Am I wrong about that?

october 8 is the last night for stay 5 pay for 3.

i thought i saw the SS going past this month ..

Sounds like keeping the car for those last few days at Universal might not be worth it for the parking fees and additional rental cost. But we'd have to weigh that against the cost of getting the 5 of us to the airport if we give up the car early. And also, it would depend on whether we'd plan to venture out in the evenings - with HHN going on during our planned stay, we'd likely only be doing the parks in the mornings and early afternoons (unless it''s a Monday or Tuesday).

Any local willing to let me park our van in you driveway for 5 days this summer??

I just booked a wicked nice deal for 5 nights Club level RPR tacked onto our summer trip, and the parking fee just burns me lol
