Parking fee after modifying reservation

If I made a reservation a while back (February) for a stay in November, I know I don't pay for parking. My question is, what if I make a change to my reservation? Apply a discount, shorten the length of my stay, etc. I applied the holiday discount to my room and it said something like "Reservation date: June 29th" on the confirmation, and now I'm worried because I did that I'm going to have to pay the parking fee (passholder staying for 7 nights so that's going to be an extra $100+ to my trip). Has anyone made a change to their reservation and subsequently been changed for parking? I modified my reservation, I didn't make a new one. Thanks!

Yes. When you "apply a discount" it really is a new reservation in most respects. The discount inventory is separate from the room you already booked.

I did this in May and wrote in an email, asking if I'd have to pay the parking fee. I modified trip dates, but had made the reservation back in like November then changed it in January/February, and then shortened it in April a month before the trip. I got a long voicemail from a nice CM who explained that she can see all of the modifications in the reservation's history, but that it clearly showed my original day of making it was many months before the parking fees were implemented, and that the cast members at the hotel would be able to see that as well and NOT charge the parking fee. We had a rental car for that trip and never got charged the parking fee.

I can't recall when, but I'd booked it on maybe a general discount then switched it to an AP discount as well -- just can't remember when exactly I did that, if it was pre- or post- parking fee implementation.

If you have kept your original emails from before changing the reservation, check to see the reservation confirmation number has been the same all along.

As the PP wrote, if you keep the same confirmation number, your original booking date will be retained. Not 100% sure if this happens with applying a new discount, but when modifying resorts or dates, I am certain that the confirmation number doesn't change.

My TA had to modify my reservation and when she did, made a note that it was made well before the parking charges were announced. We'll find out in August when we get there if we're good or not.

We modified our reservation when the Free Dining came out. I verified with the CM who changed the reservation that we will not have to pay for parking since our original reservation was booked prior to the new rule.

Thanks! The confirmation number is the same so maybe I won't have to pay it. I also haven't decided yet if I'm driving or flying (lol) so it might be a moot point.
