Does anyone know if Disney allows drop offs at the gate? We were thinking of avoiding the parking one day and having a family member drop us off at the park.

Yes. At all parks.
Just tell the parking gate attendant that you are dropping off/picking up.

The MK drop-off is at TTC/MK parking, so guests must then take the monorail or ferry over to MK.
The alternative is to drop/pick-up guests at the Contemporary Resort,
just a short walk to/from MK gates.

Yes you tell the cm you're just dropping off, then tell you where to go and you'll get dropped off at the front where taxis/users go
