Is there a way to save on parking at disney if you don't stay on property?

No, but you do only pay for parking once per day, even if you hop to a different park. Save your parking receipt from the first park and show it at the gate of the subsequent park(s).

Yes, as long as it's the same day. New day, new parking fee.

Many off-property hotels in the area offer free shuttle bus service to and from the Disney parks. You could save on parking by taking the shuttle bus, then using Disney transportation onsite to hop from park to park. Best to get a copy of the hotel's shuttle bus schedule before you start, so you know at the end of the day where to go to pick up your hotel's shuttle at each park.

Another option is if you're staying at one of the hotels bordering Downtown Disney. Just walk from your hotel to the Downtown Disney bus stops, and use Disney transportation all day. There are a few hotels there less than a 5 minute walk from the Disney bus stops.

The only catch here is that none of the Downtown Disney buses go to the theme parks. You'd have to catch a bus from there to one of the resorts close to the park you want to visit, then catch a different bus, the monorail, or a boat to your preferred park.

If you just happen to have an annual pass then parking is free.

If you are going to the parks for a few days, getting an annual pass for 1 person may pay off by giving you free parking.
