Can anyone tell me about how long it takes to walk from the MK handicapped parking lot to the front gates? We will be transferring my DD to her wheelchair so we do not necessarily need to park in a handicapped zone, and after reading some of the posts I am pretty sure that I will try to avoid it as much as possible..Where would be the best place to park (closest to the front gates)?
Any ideas on MGM parking would be great to. Thanks for any help,Kim

Post again over on the DISabilities board, where we actually know this kind of thing.

In our case, DS (6 yrs old) is wheelchair bound, and we have always stayed on-site so we could use the excellent Disney transportation. We roll DS's wheelchair on to the Bus/ Boat/ Monorail, secure it in place, and off we go, right to the park gate. No muss, no fuss, no loading and unloading... you get the picture. We always get on first, and if ever there is not enough room for the wheelchair, we talk to the driver and/or another CM near the stop, and they send an empty bus for us.

However, if you already have off-site plans in place, check with my fellow DISabilities board members, as many of them have experience with the issues you will likely need to deal with.

The area is very close to the little tunnel that you walk through to the TTC. We parked there in April. We arrived around 9 am and had no problem with the distance.
Good Luck
