Parking at the HNY

Hi,
We are going on 18th July and plan to but APs. We are staying offsite so are hoping to park at the HNY early, in time for EMH. As the parks are open so late at this time of year and it would be a tiring day to stay all day, we plan on going back to our apartment for a few hours in the afternoon.
Do the car parks get full, so that when we came back we would have to park at a different hotel car park? If this was the case, would this make much difference to our walking time to the park?
Sorry if this is a stupid question, but for a newbie, its quite difficult to imagine where everything is.

We've always been able to get a space at HNY whatever time we've arrived. We've often come and gone as you say.
However you probably wont be able to park there when you first arrive as you need to show your NY hotel ID /booking confirmation or AP (remember it is only dream APs that get this perk)

If you do have to park at another hotel it will probably take you about another 5 mins from Sequioa Lodge

We went in August so it was very busy at the Parks each day. We went out for a rest each day and always managed to get a parking space back at the HNY late afternoon/early evening. There were always plenty of spaces towards the back of the car park.
