We're staying at ASMu but having dinner at the Cailfornia Grill & for a 10pm Wishes. I thought we'd take the bus to MK the monorail/walk to CR then monorail/walk back then bus back to ASMu. But that seemed liked A LOT!!!

We'll have a rental car. So with dinner reservations, would be allowed to park at the CR (for free)??? THX:confused:

Don't forget you will have to show photo ID when you arrive at the guard gate, so they can check your name off a list of guests with ADR's for that evening.

I parked there last Sunday night for dinner at Chef Mickey's. They did ask to see photo ID or my room key (stayed at AKV). They did not check my reservation or give me a time limit.

But I expect that once the Bay Lake Tower opens August 4 that it will get more difficult. I was thinking that there really isn't much parking considering the size of the building. They really should have considered under the building parking like they did at AKV.

The checking-of-ID thing isn't so much to see if you are on a list or not. They let people park there who aren't on any list.

Disney wants to see an ID from everybody who drives into their parking lot. Doesn't seem to have a purpose, so it's unclear why - it's like they have a fetish about it.

They claim it's for your protection... Makes the TSA look efficient. I once asked the guard if the "terrorist's" in the back seat shouldn't be checked too.:confused3

LOL I agree -- its an odd requirement.

Also agreeing with PP - I was there during Spring Break - we had two cars going to Chef Mickey's for breakfast arriving at different times and neither car was given a parking pass nor was there any mention of a time limit.

There's always valet to consider as well--just in case the main lot is full.

Should add that we always eat at California Grill each trip and only once do I ever remember having the reservation # checked. And most times we're let right in w/o any parking pass.

A question--won't that new Bay Towers thing have it's own lot somewhere?? Otherwise I can see the Contemporary lot being overwhelmed.

You know...someday you're going to be posting from a prison cell!!! You are just too funny. Only problem is, I don't think the TSA or Disney security has a sense of humor....:lmao:

In any case, there is usually signage at the monorail resorts stating that parking is not provided for park access. Can you park there for dinner and then head over to the MK for a few hours?? Most likely. But it isn't 'officially' correct.

The OP made it sound like their dinner reservation is for California Grill during the 10 PM Wishes - since they didn't want to have to walk back over afterwards to catch the bus - at least that is how I read it.

So officially - if that is the scenario it would be correct.
