I've read a bit about parking at RPR but having never stayed onsite, I know nothing and I'm also very confused about billing. :-)

Is it a lot or a garage?

Do you pay by inserting a CC to enter and again when leaving? Or, do you receive a ticket and pay an attendant when leaving?

How does the billing cycle work?

This is the parking plan:
Day 1) Arriving in the afternoon and leaving that evening for dinner to return a few hours later.
Day 2) car still parked from evening before but we will be leaving for dinner.
Day 3) car stays put all day
Day 4) car will probably stay put all day
Day 5) will be leaving for MNSSHP so won't get back to RPH until around 1 am
Day 6) depart around lunch

Based on this, how will I pay? In my planning I figured $18 for five days. Is this correct?

Help appreciated!

Figure $18 per night. 5nights = 90 plus tax. keep in mind the lots are small. coming back at night will make for an even longer walk back to the room.

That's what I originally figured. Do I pay at the lot every time I leave or all at once when I check out?

I just thought of something else. When we arrive to check in, do we park in the lot and bring our luggage with us to check in? Is there an unloading area at the hotel where we would pull up to load and unload? If we have to unload from the lot, are there carts available?

Sorry, lots of questions, I'm just trying to figure out the details!

pull up to the front of the hotel, stay at the right side by the curb.
valet will come and unload your car with a cart.

they will take it inside while you go park your car.
you don't have to do a thing.
they will give you a ticket stub.

you pay an overnight fee only.
no charge for leaving and returning to the hotel parking lot as you listed above.

Thanks macraven :-)

One last thing. Do I pay at the lot or when I check out? In other words, is it a pay as I leave thing or put on my final hotel bill?

Much appreciated!

you pay when you check out of the hotel.

you can pull up your bill on the tv in your room.

if you put a cc on hold, it will automatically charge when you check out.

i usually go to the front desk the night before i check out to make sure my bill is accurate.
then when i leave in the morning, no surprises.

They will charge it to your room bill. You will use your room key to get in AND OUT.

definitely drop you luggage at the door. It may be a hike to your parking spot.

Everyone answered everything. :)

I just wanted to share that when I was dealing with parking at RPR I remember being really anxious to get going because you can see and hear the Hulk coaster from the lot. While I had no plans to go on it that trip, it was still exciting to think of going to this brand new (to me) themepark. :)

I can't wait! Hoping check-in and parking are smooth :-)

If you have never been then follow what Mac said.just keep right and pull up to the main entrance. They will assist you with your luggage if you wish. If not you can still unload there and then go park. After that go to the checkin counter. They will ask if you have a car and if its self parked or valet. They will just add that to the bill. Very simple process no need to stress.

Since its your first time I would let them handle your luggage and possible valet.

Now we are very different since we are there all the time. We just go and park in the lot. Then walk and checkin. If our room is ready we go and check out the room first. Then we walk back to our car and get our luggage (very easy all rolling bags and cooler). Then take them to our room. After that swing by the lobby and print our express pass and head out to have fun.

Here is some pictures.

After turning into RPR entrance on bridge. Below bridge is water taxi water way and walking path.

Just past the old guard gate this is where you stay right.

Going up to under the main entrance.

Welcome home and they will do the rest if you want. If not still pull up and unload.

Now if self parking after unload continue through and you will see this. Just go straight and to your left will be a gate. First time in gate will give you a paper ticket. After you get your hotel key you will swipe that to get in our our. Hope this helps.

:)

Our first time going to RPR was stressy because I got all "I don't want to tip all these people". I wanted to check in first to see if the room was ready, and got annoyed that that didn't seem possible, blah blah. Got myself all in a tizzy over, what, $5 or $8 extra in tips? Meh, not worth it. Don't let yourself do that to, um, yourself. :)

The pictures bluer just posted have me in a tizzy in a good way! I'm so excited to be revisiting our first Universal resort!!!!

We should be there around lunch so I'm doubting our room will be ready. I like simple. ;-) Drop luggage, park car, check in, play.

It all depends on if rooms are ready when you arrive. We have gotten our room as early as 6 am and as late as 5 pm their fault. But on average when we go our room is ready. :thumbsup2

I'll keep my fingers crossed! I'm almost at the two week mark :-)

When I checked in Saturday my room was ready, I dont remember exact time but I know it was before 4
