If you want to visit a resort and go for a casual meal how long are you allowed to park as a guest ?

Most resorts near parks, like Poly or CR at MK and Yacht and Beach clubs at Epcot generally give a 3 hour parking pass. Other resorts will either tell you to enjoy without a time limit or if they are particularly full may also limit to 3 hours.

I've also resort hopped and if you tell the guard at the gate you are just going to visit the resort, buy something, etc., they will give you a 3 hour pass. Even on New Years Eve, I've never had trouble. Of course, I've never stayed longer than 3 hours, I look honest, trustworth, truthful, wise, smile with my best smile and use my best southern accent! I just don't look thrifty, which is why they let me in and shop!

You are entitled to park at the resort as long as you are dining, shopping or participating in some activity at the resort. Once you leave to go elsewhere, you should park elsewhere.

We have a horse and carriage ride at Wilderness Lodge and then we are having dinner at Trails End so we hoped to start at Wilderness Lodge have the carriage ride and then get the boat over to Fort Wilderness for dinner, back to Wilderness Lodge to explore a little and see the shop.

You should be fine.

I am not sure if you had any ADR's on New Years Eve, however I can tell you at the Magic Kingdom Monorail Resorts if you try to park and you're not staying there or have an ADR they will turn you away.

Well, all I know is that it was New Year's eve and it was the Poly. I told the guard that we were going shopping for something (I have no idea what at the is moment), look at the deocrations and then leave. We promised we wouldn't stay more than 3 hours (we didn't). I didn't even have to promise my first born or anything!

Well maybe you went in the afternoon because the last time my parents and I stayed at the Contemporary on New Years Eve we returned around 7:00 PM, saw a huge line up to drive in and also saw a lot of cars being told to turn around and leave.

I've also parked at both the Poly and the Contemporary on New Year's Eve without ADR's. Never a problem. Have a great time!

On busier days, we have been asked if we had ADR's and they checked a list to verify it. We tend not to spend 3 hours in the resort unless we are visiting someone there. On non-busy days, alot of the time we don't even get a 3 hour pass to put in our window.
