Hi Folks,
I have a quick question regarding parking at various parks and resorts. I will have a rental car for the first time at Disney and I know that I will have to pay for parking at the parks. My question is along the lines of this type of scenario. If I go to HS in the morning, pay to park, then leave for while to come back to the Hilton, then go to the Magic Kingdom later, I assume I won't have to pay for parking again---We'll have the parkhopper. But what if I wanted to go to say the Wilderness Lodge or another resort for dinner--do they charge for parking?? Any tip/suggestions? Thanks!

That's correct - if you go to 2 parks in the same day, you don't have to pay again. The Disney owned resorts do not charge for self parking. Swan/Dolphin does, not sure about other non-Disney.

Thanks Debbie. Do you know if the Disney resorts require some kind of "proof" of a dinner reservation?? I mean can you just drive and park at the Grand Floridian??

It really depends on who is working, what time of year it is, etc. as to how much scrutiny they will give you. They will ask to see photo ID to enter the parking lot, sometimes they will look up your ADR on a list, sometimes they don't. In any case, you are not required to have an ADR to visit a resort; people do visit the resorts for other reasons - shopping, counter service restaurants, just looking around, etc.

Typically you will be given a 3 hour parking pass if you park at any resort except your own. Disney wants you to feel free to shop and eat at other resorts, but they don't want you parking there all day taking spots away from that resort's guests. Not saying that is what you intend to do, but just thought I would thow it out there.:)
