Parking at Rainforest Cafe

I recently made an ADR at Rainforest Cafe and was told by the CM that there was free parking for this restaurant for people staying at one of the on site resorts. We're planning on going over to AK in the afternoon sometime the day we check in, eat dinner at the RC at 6 p.m. and tour the park that evening. Can you still park in the restaurant parking lot if you're planning on staying that long? And, if so, does it make sense to do that rather than taking Disney transport to the park? I assume there's much less of a walk from the restaurant parking lot to the restaurant and into the park than there is from the regular parking lot into the park.

I don't *think* there is a parking lot just for the restaurant. I could be wrong, but I think you just park in the regular lot, like everyone else. And you can leave your car there as long as you like.

The restaurant is at the entrance to the AK, so when you leave you can just head right in.

Taking the bus will drop you off right at the entrance to the park. Driving means a short walk or a tram ride from the lot. Driving is generally faster than taking the bus, so I drive and don't think the bus makes sense. But lots of people like to ride the bus. Only you can decide what you'd rather do.

Just confirming there is no separate parking for the restaurant-it's the AK parking lot they were referring to.

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure you can park at any park for free if you're staying on site.

And I also second that you just park in the main AK parkinglot, as far as I know.

You could go to the Rainforest Cafe in Downtown Disney where parking is always free!

Thanks for the replies. I don't know if it was me misunderstanding the CM I spoke with or them misunderstanding what they were reading, but I got the impression there was separate parking lot. Oh well. I'll either drive or take the shuttle. I can never decide which I prefer. I like the convenience of being dropped off at the gate with the shuttle but it's probably true that taking your own car is faster.
