Parking at MK and EP Resort Hotels for Park Entry???

This was a strategy that had been mentioned on boards in the past, but I haven't noticed it as much in prep for our trip this time around, so wondering if it's not a recommended strategy anymore. Used to be you could park at the Yacht Club, for instance, and enter Epcot through the International Gateway for Illuminations, or park at the Contemporary or Polynesian and get the earlier monorails to the MK. Is this still a viable approach? Thanks all!!!

There are now time limits set at the resort parking lots unless you are a resort guest at that resort, and they are for meals only at the specific resort.

Just back, we parked at the Boardwalk self parking lot and walked across the street and cut through to the Boardwalk and on to Epcot. This is a great option, especially if you are intending to spend your time in the World Showcase. It's about a 15 minute walk.

Went to the Poly for dinner, guard at gate took our tag number, id and gave us a parking pass that was good for 2 hours only. Don't know how strict they would be if you stayed past your time though. We had no trouble parking at the Contemporary for Chef Mickey's, guard let us right in. We parked in self-parking, had our dinner, then rode monorail to the park. We rode back to Contemporary and got our car when MK closed.

We also parked at the Beach Club one evening for dinner at Cape May. Guard let us in, no hassles. After dinner, we caught bus from BC to MK.

These resort parking lots are not for parking while you go to the parks. You can use them for parking to eat in the restaurants. They have signs at the guard gates at BW and BC stating you can not park there while you go to Epcot, etc.

For people staying at these resorts, especially Boardwalk it can be very difficult to find a parking place at times.
