Parking at Epcot?

So with the trams not running, I absolutely hate parking at Magic Kingdom. I am a passholder and get free parking so I haven't wanted to spend the money on preferred parking. I was wondering if it would be possible for me to park at Epcot with a Magic Kingdom reservation and just use the monorail to go over to Magic Kingdom.

I can’t think of a reason that you can’t. Many people do that when they plan to end their day at Epcot. You don’t need to enter the Epcot park tapstiles to board the monorail, although you do have to go through security before you can get to the monorail station.

This would really depend on what time Epcot opens. Often it doesn't open until 10 or 11 these days with Early Theme Park Opening being 30 mins before that. On days Epcot official opens at 10, the parking opens around 8:30 which is an hour before Early Theme Park Entry.

I would anticipate on those days the Epcot monorail would also start running at 8:30 but not earlier than that. Depending on what time you want to arrive at MK that may or may not work for you.

If you're not wanting to be at MK for their park opening it should work but if you want to be in the MK close to park opening then no, parking at Epcot would not work unless that park opened earlier than it has been lately.

Truly depends on park hours and you will need to look at those and compare.

LOL @CarolynFH, our answers are totally different from one another! :)

It truly depends on park hours and what time OP wants to arrive at MK.

I just glanced at the December calendar and most days MK opens at 9:00 and Epcot at 11:00. In those cases, if OP wants to rope drop MK it won't work as I figure:

9:30 Epcot parking opens
9:40 earliest to get to monorail station and have monorail arrive
9:50 to TTC
switch
10:05 monorail to MK probably arriving at 10:15 earliest which is 1 hour and 15 mins after park opening and 1 hour 45 mins after ETPE.

Crowds will have grown substantially in that amount of time!

I wasn’t even thinking about the timing issue (maybe because we don’t rope drop :P) , only about whether it was allowed or not! Funny how we approached their question from different directions!

Interesting. If OP is going fairly early to rope drop MK, the walk from the parking lot is not bad at all. If not ending the night at Epcot, it seems a waste of time to me to park there and take the monorail from Epcot to the TTC. But it is doable depending on the time.
