Parking at Downtown Disney at Disneyland is very simple, if you know the rules.

You can park for 3 hours completely free. If you are going to the movies or eating at the sit-down restaurants there you can get an extra 2 hours IF you get your parking stub validated by the corresponding business.

After that it's pay to park. $5 or $6 per hour I think. I am not sure on this part because if we ever get close to our free time running out - just go to the car, leave, and pull back in again. hehe

Enjoy your evening at DtD, the nights are beautiful right now.

1st three hours free and if you go into any of the restaurants and ask for validation that will get you two additional free hours for a total of five free hours.

I have parking on my AP and we still often use the DTD parking and Monorail in the park since you get the five hours to play with at no cost.

Is there a time frame for this free parking window? For example, do you pay to park after 5pm or is there some way they record when you arrive and when you leave? Hope that makes sense! Just trying to figure out if it's as bad there as it is in Seattle!

You get a ticket when you pull in the parking lot, which records your time on it. You need to leave before 3 hours are up according to their time, if you don't have a validation. Make sure you take the ticket with you and get it validated if you go to a movie, etc..., and then you have 5 hours free, from the time on your ticket. It is $6 per hour additional to park. They also have valet service, which is convenient when it's really busy. It's $6 for the valet, plus whatever your parking is, which, if you use your free hours, would be free.
