Parking at Contemporary for the day

Our first full day of our vacation is this Monday and we start with PS at 8AM at Chef Mickey's. I have heard that the Contemporary will let you park there (no charge???) if you have a PS.

Since we plan to spend the whole day at MK, shouldn't we or couldn't we just park all day at the Contemporary? It would be a pain to have to drive from the Contemporary parking lot to the MK parking lot at 9:30 AM with three young kids in tow.

Any strategies? Ideas of full day cost of parking at the Contemporary?

You will only get a 3 hour parking permit and your car may be towed. They are trying to crack down on abuses. We are paying to stay at CR and will be upset if there is no parking for us:( ! You "may" can pay and park valet, but I am not sure of this. We stayed at POR couple years ago and had a 7:30 ps at Chef Mickeys. We did move our car to MK parking lot(free as a WDW resort guest) and rode the monorail over as we did not want to worry about our vehicle and others needing the space the entire day.

Sorry, no. They'll give you a three hour parking pass. If you aren't gone shortly after the end of it, you'll likely be towed.

Park at the TTC before breakfast and take the monorail over to the Contemporary, then you can walk back to the MK afterwards.

Full time parking is strictly for guests at resorts and there isn't any way to "pay" to stay unless you valet park and even then I am not exactly sure if there is a time limit. With a PS you get a 3 hour pass, and believe me security checks it. When we were at the Polynesian in December, they were checking and we did see one car get towed during our week there. I wouldn't risk parking there all day. Plus, you will be taking a guest's spot if you do leave the car there.

You can always park at the MK parking lot and take the monorail over to the Contemporary early. If you are a Disney resort guest, parking is free.

I have a question regarding this topic as well. We have Priority Seating at Chef Mickey's at 7:15 (for a day the MK opens at 8:30). Will the monorail REALLY be running from the TTC at that hour to take us to the Contemporary? It would seem that they would be running it for a very small amount of people. I just find it hard to believe I could "catch a ride" at this hour. Thanks

It generally starts two hours before the MK opens, although sometimes it's only 1 1/2 hours. EiIther way you have to pass through the toll barriers to get to the TTC or the CR, so just ask there. If it's not running yet, you'll know to park at CR and move your car after breakfaast. If it is, you can park once for the day at the TTC and use the monorail.

THATS what we did! Thanks for reminding me. We parked at the TTC, showed our Chef Mickey's PS number and name and were whisked over to the CR by monorail. We then walked to MK afterward. I had forgot! And YES, it was running in time for our 7:30 ps! :D

We have PS for Chef Mickey's at 5:15pm. We had planned to stay and watch the fireworks from the Poly, at 9p.m. Where should we park since we are not going to any parks that day? We are staying off site and didn't think we had to pay for parking since we were not going to the park. Any help or advice. Thanks.

 If you have a handicap tag, {and hopefully you have the person with you that it belongs to} You can pretty much park anywhere there is a handicap spot for as long as you need to, although I realize not that many folks can do that.

The resort monorail starts by 7 am at the latest - usually earlier. They need to start it at least 1 hour before the earliest PS for the parks - CRT and CP start at 8:05 am., even when the park isn't open yet. My daughter and I caught the monorail at about 6:45 am one morning last March to head over to the Poly to look around a little prior to 8 am Mass. There is something I miss!

:( We know how you feel!:( No religious services at all at disney any more.:(

jnl, I would park in the MK parking lot by the TTC or Poly monorail stations and then monorail hop around to CR and back to Poly

Thanks

You will still have to pay for parking--you have to pass throught he toll barrier to get to the hotels.

I think Anne is referring to the parking booths for the MK. I'm not sure that you would have to pay if you're driving to the resorts for a meal. We never do when we're checking in at the Poly or GF. Are you sure you need to for a meal, Anne?

BTW mitros they are having Easter masses and a Protestant service at the CR for Easter just as they did for Christmas.

We eat at the Polynesian a lot when we stay off-site and we've never had to pay for parking. At the toll booths where they collect the parking fee, we just tell them we have a ps for a certain restaurant and they wave us through.

I don't know where I read this but, I am under the impression if you pay to park valet, there is no time limit whatsoever. After, all you are Paying to park and I believe it's the same price as the Magic Kingdom Parking Lot fee. I have never heard of Valet being "full up". I would just call WDW or the Resort itself and ask if there is a time limit to park valet. After all, if it's 3 hours for free... I am almost certain it is all day for valet!
