Can someone tell me how parking is at BWV. I have heard it is a quite far. How do you get luggage to your rooms and such. Do you have a Bellhop do it and tip them or is there another approach.

We usually have bell services deliver the luggage to the room especially if we have a lot (if we drive we have a lot).

It is so easy to have them hold everything because if the room isn't ready we can just then take off for a park. We call them when we get into our room for delivery.

Distance to your car is relative. It's certainly not as close as OKW or SSR. This last trip we were all the way at the end of the corridor so went out the back door. It was a short walk to the car.

....for free valet, unless they changed that DVC perk recently. I was told you tip the car guys a couple bucks when they retrieve your car, not when you drop it off: so thats what we've always done. Also, tipping 50cents to $2/bag to bellhop seems to be quite common (although we've always believed for all we spend on a trip our kids should bellhop our bags for us gratis + good excercise).

No more free valet parking!

BWV is one place where we bite the bullet and pay bell services to unload everything. Usually we leave everything in the car and check in first. Once we have a room assignment we run and get groceries and then have everything delivered straight into the room at the same time.

You have to tip twice: once when the off-load your car and again when it is delivered to the room, since it is two different people. We tip $10. each time.

My friend & I were there at the end of October. What we did was park the car in the main lot and walked up to check-in (about 2:00pm). Our room was ready but we wanted to eat lunch, so we headed to Big River Grill. Then after lunch, we went back to the parking lot and I drove the car up the entrance and dropped her off with the luggage. Then I reparked the car and walked up to the entrance and we took our luggage to the room. Then we went out for groceries, I dropped her off at the entrance with the groceries and parked the car. I got alot of exercise that day! We are both able bodied adults so it wasn't a problem. Now, when my mom was alive, we always used bell services, it was too much for her to drag the luggage to the room.

At check-out, we took our luggage to the RAC desk and checked it and took our carryons to the car.

Thanks for the answers. Imagine this. We had to change our dates because of some workplace schedule conflicts now we will be at AKV. So I guess my research will begin there. :surfweb:
