Parking at AoA to tour the resort without a room... doable?

We will be staying offsite with my extended family in August, and I would like to bring the kids to tour Art of Animation (big Cars fans!) and maybe do a run of Skyliner.
Will we be able to park at AoA? I know they are very strict about parking and since AoA has no sit-down restaurants to do an ADR, I may be denied access... any positive experiences?
My husband and I are AP holders, so we could also park for free at HS then take the skyliner to AoA, but it just doesn't seem as convenient!
Any thoughts?

I think that they have become as strict with regard to parking "just to tour" the Skyliner resorts as they have for the resorts that are near parks. We haven't tried AoA but we have gone to Riviera and CBR when we had ADRs and they were very diligent about checking that we had a dining reservation before lifting the gate.

They are strict at Pop and AoA because it would be too easy for people to park there and ride the Skyliner to the parks to avoid paying parking fees.

You can park at DHS and ride the Skyliner over to AoA with no problem though. Any resort transportation would be fine.

I love the Skyliner, so any excuse to use it works for me. Since you mentioned a ride on the Skyliner was a part of the plan anyway, I don’t think it will be any less convenient to park at DHS and ride from there.

I have found them to be much more strict about allowing people in since the Skyliner opened. I am not saying you would never be able to park at AoA, but the odds of being turned away are much, much higher than they used to be. To me, being turned away and having to then drive over to DHS would be more inconvenient than just parking there to begin with.
