Parking at airport or hotel?

I seem to remember hearing before that there are some hotels in the major air markets that you can stay at overnight then they will transport you to the airport in the morning and you can leave your car parked at the hotel for free for the duration of your trip.

Is this something I dreamed up or is it a reality? I am considering flying out of Dallas and was wondering if this was something that could be done there.

If it is would you do it? Would our car be safe at a hotel for 2 weeks?

I don't know about Dallas, but we have them here in Pittsburgh, they are called "park and fly" packages. I have a friend who lives over an hour from the airport and always does this with no problem. There is competition among the airport hotels, so the parking ends up being free.

you are absolutely right. I have done this many times when I've flown out of minneapolis because parking for a week at the MSP airport is in excess of $90. You can stay at a hotel offering a park & fly package for about this amount or less and leave your car there. They will shuttle you both ways.

You have to make sure that you book at the 'park & fly rate' at participating hotels.

We too have used "park and fly" several times from Minneapolis, as we are more than 2 hours away. This year, however, the cost of an Airlink flight was about the same as the room, so we flew from home!

Sometimes you only get free parking for a week, you may have to pay something for the second week.
