Parking after Drop Off, Thoughts?

Hey everyone, I hope someone can give me some help. We are going to WDW in January with my parents. My husband and I have been many times in the past few years and have no major health issues, so we haven't paid much attention to medical drop-off etc. My Dad has terrible knees. Since the trams are not running, we want to drop him off in the drop off area, and then go park the car. Does anyone know if you can access parking after dropping someone off? Or do you have to go out and around and re-enter the gates again? Has anyone tried this? Thanks in advance!

have never tried what you are asking about but remember at MK he will still have to get from either the monorail or ferry as there is no car drop off near the gate

Thanks Betty! Yes, definitely know at the TTC he will have to hop on the ferry or monorail. Hoping to get him close to TTC. I've seen sites stating people can be dropped off in a designated area, but I can't seem to find anything about what happens after that if other members of their party are parking to also go to the park. Hoping someone on here can help!

You can ask one of the CMs directing traffic if you can park in the medical lot. Just be sure not to park in a space painted blue, with the wheelchair symbol, or an access zone (zebra stripes).

Look on Google maps to see the drop off spot and the exit way after, to see if there is a way to get into the parking lot?

I played around on Google maps - doing the drop off and then parking seems to be a huge hassle. Looks like you drop off near the buses at the TTC, and then have to loop past the car care center, use a U-turn lane and go back through the tollbooth?

Not sure if your dad has a handicap placard but if he does you can take it with you and use it and then park in handicap parking. Although, you still have to walk some to get to the park entrance it's way better than the regular parking. Maybe, his primary doctor would issue a handicap placard for the trip. You could ask.

I do think it's much easier to do a drop off at Animal Kingdom if that helps.

Thank you so much for doing that! I agree, it seems it will be a large hassle.

Thank you so much! Yes from what I remember I believe AK is pretty open and would be fairly easy. He does not have a placard but I did mention this to him as well. Thank you!
