Parkhopping/Fastpass question

With the two parks being so close together I'm wondering if anyone knows how the FPs work between the 2 parks.

Let's say my family enters DL first thing in the morning, spends a couple hours. Right before lunch, we decide we want to get FPs for Radiator Springs Racers.

I'm wondering if just I could take all 4 of our tickets to get the FPs or would each of us need to activate our cards at the DCA gates in order for each ticket to be ready to get DCA FPs?

I'm sure our first day we'll want to ride RSR, however, my concern is if FP return times are being enforced, we may not want to get one first thing in the morning, as we have a reservation at Blue Bayou for 11:30. So my thought was try to hit some of the slow loaders/popular attractions at DL first thing. Then myself run over to grab some evening FPs for RSR.

TIA

Yes, you can have one person take everyone's tickets to DCA for fastpasses as long as their tickets have been activated at one of the parks that day. Also, the FP's for both parks operate independently, so you could pick up some FP's on the way out of DL and immediately get FP's at DCA.:thumbsup2

There are some great threads on FP's in the sticky section.

Oh, and FP's return times will not be enforced as far as we know. You will want to get as many as possible first thing in the morning because the wait times between them will be as low as 45 minutes instead of 2 hours.

I have a feeling that the FP's for RSR will run out very early in the day, so I would get them as soon as possible. That is my plan! I'm guessing there will be quite a long line for them, as well.

If you wait until lunch to get your FPs for RSR, you run a real risk of not getting FPs at all. The revamped ST was running out of FPs very early in the day (sometimes a few hours after opening) when it first re-opened. We expect RSR to be as popular, if not more so.

And as the PP said, you only need your ticket to be activated at either park to obtain FPs and the two park FP systems operate independently of each other as well.

I was there for the Star Tours 3D opening. Fastpasses ran out the first hour of each day 9am.....gone

Highly recommend that you decide which rides you want to visit the most and how willing you are to wait in line for them. Certain rides run out of FP early, but lines move fairly quickly in comparison to others. Also, queues for many rides will empty out after the last parade/fireworks/first Fantasmic! performance so you may want to take that into consideration if you will be staying later.

Yeah, I'm thinking if they really want to ride it, we may start off there grab FPs for RSR and hit a few there, before heading over to DL for lunch. Thank you everyone.

I know they are strictly enforcing FP times at WDW - have they not done the same for DL/DCA?

I was there Saturday and ran into someone who got their FPs at 8:35 am....and they weren't good until 6:35 pm!
