I'm sure people have tried this before, and I am looking for advice. We're a party of 5 going to DL for 7 days in the parks. We may look at splitting up for a while in the afternoons, for the youngest 2 to have a rest back at the hotel (Camelot, across the street). Dh thinks I should leave our PH's with him and oldest ds to use to collect FP's (since we can't use them anyway - we're sleeping), and meet us back out in the esplanade when we wake up, probably 3 hours later. But I am a little nervous at the idea of being separated from my parkhopper for that long...:scared: - I don't even have it yet,and already I'm afraid to let it out of my sight!

So, good idea, bad idea??

If I'm understanding you correctly, I think it's a great idea. They can collect FPs which will be waiting for you when you return to your party. I'm always a big fan of cutting down wait times.

FWIW, the FP machines in DL are not linked to the ones in DCA, so they can collect FPs in both parks.

We do it all the time. It is a good idea to let them collect FP's while you are resting.

The only drawback to that that I can see is if your DH is the kind that doesn't hear his cellphone or whatever and when you and the little ones are ready to go back to the parks, he doesn't hear his cell. Otherwise, it's definitely not a bad idea. We're done it before and it's worked out great, although I've been left waiting a few times when my DH was on a ride and didn't hear or couldn't answer.

Maybe you could work up to it by letting your DH take something...like your wedding ring, to work for the day. ;)

Give them your hopper- it's the best of both worlds. You get to chill and still get the benefits of FP. :thumbsup2

I must chime in and agree.

I understand your anxiety. I don't even like to let anyone hold my fastpasses for me. Must be in control of my park passes too! But just take a deep breath and hand them over under the condition that if he loses them, he has to buy new ones. :)

If your DH wants my PH to run all over the park and collect FPs for me while I can go do something relaxing and hassle-free, let me know. :goodvibes

Yeah it won't be so bad as long as you remember that you Husband won't make it to the esplanade in a few minutes. If he is in line say, for pirates or splash if even a short line it could take him 45 minutes to wait, ride and walk out the gate. Where as if you are closing the hotel room door you can hit the gate in 10 minutes and then be stuck waiting.

Don't be afraid to let him take your park-hopper. Like putting money in the bank, it will come back to you with interest (in the form of Fastpasses). :rotfl:

If you are nervous about your husband meeting you, can you decide on a time to meet (as in, "if you don't hear from me, meet me at _:00?")? Would that ease your mind a little?

Thanks everyone - I think I've decided to let him have them, though I may have to take a paper bag to breathe into on the way out of the park!:rotfl:

I think the "backup meeting time" would be a good idea, however. Know how husbands have that selective hearing thing - where they can tune out the frequency of your voice? Well, mine has taken it a step further, and can tune out the frequency of my phone calls and text messages - answers the dang thing immediately if it is a work call, but "never hears it" when it's me!!

Just put something extremely obnoxious and a bit embarassing as the ringtone on his phone for your calls. He'll want to answer immediately to get it to stop! ;)

I always have control of all our families park hoppers. Heck, I even hold my in-laws, parents and BIL's tickets at times! I'm obviously the designated fast pass holder as well....
