Thanks! So that is their policy. I hated that! I felt so uncomfortable. Especially for the American Express card, the 4-digit security code is printed on the front side, not the back.
I crossed off most of the credit card numbers and the complete security code on the copy, as well as important info on my driver's license. They did not say anything about it.
Hum......photocopy your credit card and driver's license.
Is that legal?
The first night is charged to your credit card when you make your reservations. So, why create the High risk of Identity Theft by someone stealing the Photocopied information?

Hmmmm. I've never really thought about this. But they take my license to the back room each time I have checked in....which I assume is to make a copy. I assumed this was standard hotel practice. Can this be avoided? And how did you cross info off.....did you make a photocopy to give to them, or did you ask for the photocopy that they made to cross off the info?
Did they not say something to you about doing that? Wondering then why they would bother if you could easily "hide" the info you don't want them to have. I am staying here in 2 weeks and I have to say that it makes me nervous about giving them my info like that. Like someone else posted, why do they need a photocopy of your cc if they already have it from the booking. This does bother me but I am not sure what my rights are in the state of California when it comes to this...
My first reaction was Oh man, I don't like that! But then I thought about it and realized, there are many Disers that love PVI and no one has reported a problem with the info they take, so I am just going to go with it.
I have stayed at the PV for years and had never really thought about this. But, as I remember it has always been their practice to take your ID and CC and go copy them. This does make me want to re-think this practice. However, with that said I have never had any problems related to PV. The staff are wonderful and the accomodations are always what I expect.

That was my next thought Wannaseepooh! I figure if something happens with my credit card, its no different than if it gets nabbed online or at the local store, I don't think it really matters these days, anyone can get your information if they really want it!
On a side note - looks as though your trip is still on Wannaseepooh! Thats exciting!
yes we will be arriving the day after you. Get your lime green mickey ready, and I'll probably see you at the pool. I know my kids will be there every day at afternoon break
