Park to Resort...

At park closing time (DHS, in particular), does the Contemporary share a bus with any other resort? I assume that it shares with the Poly and GF, but I wasn't sure if that is the case at park closing too.

We're planning on seeing Fantasmic (8pm) and high-tailing it back to the resort (BLT) so that we can eat. We are on the DxDDP and have 2 credits to use up that evening so I'd like to get a TS meal somewhere...but I think that time will be an issue, so we're planning on sharing an in-room dining meal as a last resort.

I was thinking that if the bus is shared and stops at, say the Poly first, maybe we could hop off and see if we could get a walk up at Kona, but I have no idea what timeframe we'd be looking at.

Assuming that we sit in the rear of the theater and leave the second the lights go out (right after, "Some imagination, huh?"....I still get chills when I hear that!), I think we'd make it to the bus stop by 8:30. Would we make it to the Poly by 9? Would taking a taxi be quicker? Right now, there is an ADR for 9:15 available, but I don't know if we'd make it. How late do the restaurants accept walk-ups? I assume they aren't like the rides that accept people right up until closing time:confused:.

(**FWIW, I posted a similar question on the restaurant board since it also has a dining component.**)

I think the bus is still shared by the 3 monorail resorts.

If it is shared, the stop order will be CR, Poly, GF. That's the only way to hit all 3 without backtracking and multiple left turns.

Thanks for the info! This will be my first stay at a resort that shares a bus. My previous on-site stays were at OKW, Pop Century and AKL. This trip will be BLT and BWV so it will be the complete opposite from a transportation perspective:laughing:.

You're welcome.

BW will usually be the 5th and last stop when returning from AK or DTD. Lots of people like to get off at the Swan and walk across the bridge; they'll beat the bus to BW by 5-10 minutes.

We always stay at BLT and the Contemporary is the first stop when coming back from HS.

Thanks! Even though this will be my 12th trip to WDW, I still have a lot to learn about the transportation system:goodvibes.

That's also been my experience whenever I took the bus from Hollywood Studios to the Contemporary and they were still the 1st stop before Bay Lake Tower even opened.

Of douse, you could walk from DHS to the Boardwalk/beach club/YC(or boat), which gives you access to several other restaurant choices. Either cab or transfer @DTD to get to hotel.

Thanks for all the input. After talking to my DSiL, she would actually prefer just to get in-room dining at BLT so knowing that it is the first stop from DHS is great to know.

The transportation is becoming frustrating. During our trip last May, after we left MK in the evening it took us 1 1/2 hrs to get to the BW. We stopped at resorts completely off the path. In the past it was BC, Swan/Dolphin and BW only. I hear this is the norm now... I guess we will find out in a couple of weeks.
