If you would need to cancel your vacation for some unexpected reason, what happens to the park tickets that you have purchased ahead of time? Is the only advantage to purchasing them before you leave home is that you can do FP+ Are the tickets usable in the future or transferrable to another person? The hotel is refundable until a few days before I leave. Thanks beachfan :confused3

Nothing happens to separately purchased park admission if you cancel a Disney Resort Reservation. Tickets that have never been unused are transferable.

Keep them. As long as they remain unused, they can be kept indefinitely or transferred to someone else.

Multi-day tickets expire 14 days after they are first used, not after they are purchased or after the first day of a package.

Non-expiring tickets are available but they are only needed if the plan is to keep some days of a multi-day ticket more than 2 weeks after first use.

There is a sticky at the top of the board re: tickets and one subject is unused tickets.

If this is a room-only reservation and you purchased your tickets separately from Disney, they are non-refundable. If you purchased from a third party, like UndercoverTourist, you could get a refund IF you had not already linked the tickets to an MDE account. I believe a restocking fee applies.

Yes, you can save the tickets for a future trip. As long as the tickets have not been used, they won't expire. And unused tickets are transferrable.

sorry but I believe many get this wrong. WDW website clearly indicates that "All tickets and options are nontransferable"

If the tickets have never been used, then no transfer is involved no matter whether the people who ultimately do use them are the same ones they were originally purchased for or not.

We currently have some unused PH passes linked to DS & DGD in MDE. Beneath each name is a link that says "Reassign this ticket."

Once you use them this is true. But if entirely unused it's not.

Now, there's the issue of if you've put them into your MDE and assigned them to a person. Not sure what happens then.
