If I purchase the tickets online or call Disney to order are the tickets put on our room key? What if I purchase them from the Disney Store how does that work?

Thanks! :flower:

I would imagine that if you purchase your tickets separately then you will have to use two different cards, one for your room key and one for your tickets. I know that when you purchase a package that includes room and tickets, when you check in both are on the room key.

Right now I'm booked room only, can I change that now and add the tickets to my ressie? I also have a AAA discount on the room, will I still be able to get the AAA rate?

I would recommend that you call AAA and ask them about it before you change anything, I have never dealt with AAA, only Disney, but I am sure that they will be able to arrange things for you and even answer your questions about the room keys. I am sure that you could possibly switch to a Magic Your Way package through AAA and save some dough :)

Loops - if you buy your tickets at the Disney Store, they will give you tickets right then. They will not be on your room key. I believe that if you buy a package from Disney that includes tickets, that the tickets will be on your room key. You can also buy them at checkin time and they will be on your room key, but you lose any pre purchase discount. If you have a room only reservation the tickets and room key will always be separate.

Can I change my room only ressie to one that includes park tickets? I got a AAA discount on the room which I booked through Disney...will I still be able to take advantage of a AAA discount on the room?

You probably can change your ressie from room only to a package, but you're not likely to get a discount. AAA discount generally only apply to room only reservations. It'd be better for you to just carry the two cards than to lose all the money you saved on the discount.

If you get a package or you buy the tickets when checking in they can add them to your room card. That means that one card will be your room key, ticket to the parks and charge card (if you set up charging privileges). If you have a room only ressie (which is generally cheaper) your tickets will be separate.

I have a package :)
Wow, that's convient. One less card to carry around.

Thanks for the advice. Will probably just purchase our tickets from the Disney Store. We saved $150 with the AAA discount so the $150 is better off in my pocket then in Disney's. Thanks again! :flower:

Strange thing last year...

I booked room only. Didn't get tickets.

I ordered tickets later, got them in the mail seperate.

I checked in (they didn't touch my tickets just told them I have some already)..

One of the days I went into a park i used my room key by mistake. It went through and let me in the park.

I'm assuming they somehow linked my room key to my tickets, but how?

We just did this during our recent visit.

We had a room only ressie and asked our TA to call CRO to purchase MYW tickets for two adults. When we checked into the Poly, the adult tickets were already coded onto two of the room keys. I had two "paper" base MYW tickets for our kids which I obtained by redeeming points under a customer loyalty program. The guest services counter at the Poly allowed us to upgrade the kid's passes to add the hopper option and then they coded the upgraded kid's passes to their Poly room keys. We moved to AKL later that week and they "transferred" the remaining park admissions from our Poly room keys to our new AKL room keys.

Wow - cool! I was wondering when they'd do this. If you buy your tickets at the Disney store, you'll get nice hard plastic ones (more durable than the paper ones) - but you can get a better price though Ticketmania.com.

I have a room only ressie and I just paid the balance in full. At that time I prepurchased my park hopper passes also. The girl I spoke to at CR said that the tickets would be on my room key. We would get a new confirmation in the mail that stated ticket and room were paid in full. We would get our tickets on the room key when we checked in. I just did all this on Friday night.

Keep your room only ressie with the AAA rate!!! When you call CRO to add your tickets tell them that you want "Keys to the World Passes"....just the name for park passes added to a room only ressie. They are the same price/days as a hopper pass BUT they are also 100% refundable if you can not travel for any reason...if you buy your passes at the Disney Store they are non refundable and if you buy your passes at the resort/park you will not get the advance purchase price.

You will not receive these ticketsin the mail (unless you request they be sent to you which would then make them non refundable!) as they will be activated on your room key. Make sure you always have that room key as it will not only act as your park pass but it will show that you are a resort guest and you are entitled to the extra park hours.

Hope this helps!
