Park tickets and reservations?

Hi all - I have a few DL questions. It’s been awhile since we’ve done DL and haven’t travelled to Disney at all since park reservations were rolled out.

1) how far out can we make park reservations?

2) Does it matter what hotel we’re staying at? We are starting with 2 nights at the Westin (good neighbor) and 5 nights at VGC.

3) Since there are no APs and no park passes for 7 day hoppers, we were just going to 3 day and 4 day passes. If we each buy one 3 day and one 4 day, the system will recognize each ticket let us book park reservations for the full 7 days right?

4) right now the system is not showing any dates ahead of October, is there an advantage to buying tickets now? Like if I have the tickets in the account, could we book the park reservations today?

No expert by any means but I just booked for 10/25 to 10/28 yesterday and those appeared to be the last days to reserve yesterday. I booked a package via Costco for hotel and tickets then had to link my reservations to link my tickets. Then I was able to reserve parks.

Last time I did the math it the reservations showed up to 120 days. I think that is still true because all but Halloween show availability now when I check.

I'm wondering if I can buy tickets through Disney without making reservations immediately. I don't quite see how to do that, but my dates aren't until June 2022. I'm hopeful MaxPass will come back and I'll be able to buy it at the same time as the tickets, so I don't mind waiting, I just want to get them before January in case of price hikes.

You can always change the reservation dates. Up until midnight the night before.
