Can't seem to find an answer when I search.

1. If I purchase park tickets as part of a Free Dining promotion do these tickets have a best before date. ( I know they expire 14 days after 1st use)

2. How easy is it to use existing (already purchased) tickets in MDE? I'm worried about having two sets of tickets in the same MDE (2 day PH from Package and 7 day pre-purchased tickets). Is it possible to deactivate one set of tickets so that they can't be accidentally used for park entrance. I assume Disney will automatically assign the package promotion tickets to our MB but I want the pre-purchased tickets to be the ones we use with the MB.

3. How easy is it to change the name assigned to one of the Package promotion tickets (at a later date). The person I'm traveling with for this trip will not be making the trip when I will eventually use the Package promotion tickets.

Thanks for any info received. Trying to resolve these issues before tomorrow so I can figure out if Free Dining Promotion is going to work.

The park tickets purchased with a Free Dining package or other package won't expire until you actually start to use them..

You can add or have another ticket on the same Magic Band (in the same My Disney Experience account) and ticketing CMs at your resort or at the park can proritize things so the separately purchased ticket gets used first if you wish.

For best results the ticket that is prioritized to be used first should have enough admissions on just it to cover your whole vacation.

Is it possible to purchase tickets as part of the dining promotion and not have them linked to a magic band. (do they just get added to MDE but not assigned to a specific person) I will be purchasing the tickets to qualify for the promotion but want to use them for myself and another family member in May 2018. We want to use our pre-purchased tickets this trip.

If I purchase the minimum days for this promotion how easy is it to upgrade the # of days in May 2018. ie. can it be done by phone before arriving at Disney (will want to be able to book FP ahead of time)

I read somewhere that once a ticket is put on a Magic Band, it becomes non-transferable. Will have to research that further.

To reserve Fastpasses for so many days you need to have at least that number of days' worth of ticket admissions on your Magic Band (in your My Disney Experience account).

Hi Hon
I had a One Park Day Non Expiry Park Hopper Ticket
and
a One Day Park Ticket

The concierge desk at OKW (Old key west) was able to assign the ticket I wanted to use.
Best wishes to you,,,doing things from Canada sucks as the phone calls to Orlando (Disney) costs a fortune.

My understanding is if a portion of the ticket has been used then the ticket is non transferable BUT if the ticket hasn't been used it is transferable?

I know that Disney tells you that after you assign a ticket to a person in MDE, that action is not reversible. However, if I go into MDE now, the tickets that have not been used have a "reassign" option. The ones that have been used do not have that option.

A. Tickets are never"put on a MB."
In fact, nothing is ever "put on a MB." **
Tickets, FP+, dining reservations, etc., are not put onto a MB.
Those things are entered into a guest's MyDisneyExperience account.

B. A new, never-used ticket that is put into an MDE account CAN be transferred to any other person.

**
Just to keep things as clear as possible-

There is no reservation info, or ticket info, or credit card info,

or FP+ info "put onto" a MagicBand.

A MagicBand just contains (and weakly "transmits") a unique serial number that is used to access the information that is stored in your MyDisneyExperience computer file.

So, even if you were to lose a MagicBand, the info stays locked in your file.

Disney can just set up a new band (different serial number)

to access the info in your MDE file.

Disney can also issue ADDITIONAL MB's to a guest and each

additional band can be used for the same purposes as the first band.

So, yes, there can be multiple MB's per person, and each of them can be used by that person, but their entitlements will all be common and identical.

The MagicBand works like the combination to a locked safe, or a key to a locked door.

The MB, itself, is not the file of info or the container of the info.

The MB just unlocks the file of info, allowing it to be accessed from your MDE account when needed.

1. I've never seen that info.
Although it could certainly be something that could be said by someone at Disney.
2. Correct.
3. Correct.

I have just been reading on another thread. In it the poster suggest assigning the tickets you don't want to use to another name(profile) within your MDE. Ensure that the tickets you do want to use are assigned to the people who are entering the park during your stay.

Does this sound like an easy way to do this. Any one have experience doing this recently?

1. Yes.
2. Very common procedure.
When you DO want to use those tickets, they can be instantly transferred back to a "real" person.

When you first attach a ticket to a person, I think MDE tells you that that action is irreversible - or at least I think it does.

I just assigned a ticket to my DD -- like 30 minutes ago. It doesn't say that it is irreversible, but it had some sort of "are you sure this is the person you want to assign the ticket to" thing. Then, after it is assigned to her, there is a "reassign" option.

I'm sure you and Robo are right. I haven't attached a ticket in a while, I just remembered a rather ominous warning.

A ticket is not permanently assigned to ANYONE until it is actually used. I have a non-expire and a 6-day MYW sitting in my MDE account right now that have never been used and I can re-assign all I want until someone actually enters a park USING one of those tickets.

So, in answer to OP's question, yes, you can save the tickets you purchase as part of the FD promotion and use them for another time. If you have two sets of tickets under one person's name in MDE, just go to guest relations before entering your first park and ask them to "prioritize" the tickets in the order you want them used.

As far as making FP+ in 2018, you can only make FP+ reservations for the number of days you have on a ticket attached in MDE. For example, if you have a 2-day ticket, you can make 2 days of FP+. And, currently, you can only upgrade that ticket to include more days onsite at the Disney resort. You would not be able to call Disney and upgrade the tickets on the phone.

Thanks to everyone for your responses. This has definitely helped me to finalize my decsion regarding the Free Dining promotion. I think I am going to keep things as I have arranged them right now and hope for a RO discount. It's not a big a $ savings for most people but it will work out better for us in the long run. While it's good to know this is all doable it's way more confusion than I want to deal with on this trip.
