I just got off the phone with a CM. I called since I heard about the park price increase that starts tomorrow. So I went ahead and got my park tickets. After I hung up I realize that the park tickets will be a separate transaction not linked to my exsiting Disney resort reservation. SO the questions is if free dining becomes available for my late Sept travel dates will I be able to get it since my resort and park tickets are separate and not in a package per se?
I know it shouldn't but this stuff stresses me.

You would only be able to get free dining if you buy more tickets as part of your package. As you said, the tickets you just purchased are entirely separate and can't be counted towards the package. The most recent free dining offers required the purchase of 2 day base tickets for everyone in the room.

Ugh! Oh I'm just sick about this. Thought I was saving money by purchasing my park ticket now. But it looks like I just shot myself in the foot. I'm loosing some of my Disney magical feeling I had about our trip. Oh well the Mouse will just made more money from me.:headache:

Not necessarily. With the additional requirement of having to add the photobook plus 2 day base tickets for the most recent free dining promotion you may well be better off if you can get a room only discount. It will mean you don't have the dining plan, but do you not only need a one day base ticket to add the DDP if you are paying for it? Perhaps those could be saved for a future trip with the option to upgrade.

And if they don't offer free dining for your dates, you will really be smiling :goodvibes

Ok, here's my next question. I'm trying to figure this all out. I have my reservation for ASMu and then now I have these non refundable park tickets I bought through Disney. Can I at least add QS dining plan even if I pay for it?

Nope. Unless you add a 1-day park ticket and turn your room only reservation into a package. Then you could add the QSDP.

Ok, well if that is the case I guess I just don't understand why the CM I spoke to would not have mentioned that when I bought my park tickets, I had told her that I was interested in the Dining Plan and she said yes it great etc etc, I then asked her if she could add it for me and she said i need another department and she offered to transfer me, but right then I got another call and told her I would call back she acted like that was just fine. Ugh! I give up.

What the best phone number to call to get this resolved?

That CM probably didn't really know the rules for packages. Packages are booked by Walt Disney Travel Company, room only reservations or ticket purchases are not. They are two different groups.

I don't think there is any "resolved" for you to get; they haven't done anything wrong. Call the normal 407-WDW-DISNEY # and tell them your story - maybe someone will give you some pixie dust, but I wouldn't get your hopes up.

if you upgrade your ticket to an AP, you don't have to buy a one-day ticket to PURCHASE any dining plan. Just a thought...

She specifically said you needed to talk to someone in a different department, but you went ahead with the transaction? I don't think the CM did anything wrong.
