Misting Fans, Water Bottles, sunscreen, etc.. What is the best way to keep this with you in the park? Backpack, fanny pack, locker. Whats been easiest?

My head wants to say a fanny pack is easiest, but I cannot bring myself to wear one!!!
I always bring one of those mini-backpacks (with a zipper, not the drawstring ones) but even that starts to hurt my shoulders after awhile, especially if sunburned.

Dd carries this Reebok backpack type thing with strings that is not too big and can fit items like this. Her brother and sister took it on their field trips to carry water bottles, etc. in the last two weeks.

At any amusement park, I always bring a purse that is huge. It usually zips and will fit over my shoulder. I hate carrying purses, so wearing it at my side works great. Of couse, it starts to hurt after awhile, but it works good for most of the day. I just bought one at Wal-mart for my upcoming trip. It's blue with mickey mouse. It's got a long strap to wear over my shoulder and across to my side(like all of the others). It's big. I have already tested it. It will fit bottled water, my wallet, and tons of other stuff. I'm prepared!!!!

With the Florida weather and hurricane season, I would definitely pack those infamous Disney Ponchos as well! You never know when a heavy afternoon rainstorm will hit!

In our backpack, with padded straps and a padded back, we carried the bare neccessities: fans, sunscreen, disposable hand wipes and a VERY small first aid kit (it was 99 cents at Target). The padded straps help and when my back got hot, my wonderful DH carried it!

Also, don't forget moleskin pre-cut into sizes for your toes, sides of foot, heel, etc. Moleskin saved my little piggy on the last trip!

We rented a locker on days when we wanted to carry a little more into the parks.

How do backpacks work when in WDW? Is there room to take them on rides/coasters? If not, what do you do with it while riding the rides?

I use this pack when we go out for day hikes and the last time we went to Disneyland...

It's a terrific bag and it doesn't look too "dorky" like a regular fanny pack... There is room for everything I need for my family of 4 and is very comfortable. It also does well on the "wet rides". I still bring a plastic Ziploc or two just in case.

This next April/May, I will be using this pack for our 8 days at WDW, my hubbie will have his water hydration pack on, we are getting kid-size hydration packs for DS9 and DD6 so we aren't dragging out their water bottles every 5 minutes, plus each kid will have a travel wallet around their neck that goes under your shirt. I wore one when I backpacked around Europe and they are great for keeping stuff safe. Now if I could just figure out where I'm gonna get my water from.............

I also carry a large purse like bag with a large strap that goes across one shoulder. As for taking it on rides...it can be tricky on some. RnR is the toughest ride to find a comfortable place for the bag where it feels secure, followed by Space. It may get wet on Splash and Kali Rapids, even though it is under the plastic. Overall, the benefit of having a larger bag to keep the things we need, outweighs the need to adjust it for some rides.

I have a leather fanny pack that is comfortable either in the front or the back I have used for years. Holds the sunscreen, KTTW cards, id, money, digital camera, meds(in small zip lock bags), sunglasses and occassionally a snack.
I never have to leave anything anywhere. Doesn't get too heavy...no straps, nothing to carry on my shoulders. Doesn't get in the way of the restaints and can be repositioned for comfort on rides.
I would rather go light than bulky and have to worry about remembering to pick it up after the ride.

On Kali, I bring a plastic trash sack and put it in the plastic sack and then in the covered compartment in the center. The center compartment does get somewhat wet and I use the plastic to protect it. It works out great because then I just throw away the sack after I'm done.

No problems on ToT or RnRC, I just put it at my feet. I loop one strap around my foot just to keep it in place. Same goes for Space and BTMRR. For Splash, you may have to hold it in your lap, so a plastic sack is a good option for this as well since there is a possibility to get soaked on the final flume.

All in all, I carried a backpack everyday at each park for 7 days and never had a problem.

My husband carries a back back for us. We put bottled water and the video camera in it.
It's not really that heavy and it fits nicely at his feet for most rides.

Hi! I wear one of those small travel wallets over my shoulder with money, tickets, etc. I carry a backpack with only our sunscreen, one mister fan, and small stuff like kleenex, gum,camera, etc. It's pretty light and I can always add water bottles if needed, but I usually make kids carry those on their own. I just switch shoulders often, because I hate wearing it on my back. On the days we carry our nice camera/bag, I make DH keep up with that!

I am always mortified by the fashion faux-pas of my fanny pack. It's a real one, for hiking, with slots on the slides for water bottles. But I live with the fashion crisis because it's so easy to just switch around to the front on rides, and so much nicer on hot days than having a pack against my whole back. (And I just can't handle the across-the-shoulder large purses -- they kill my back.)
