Park Rule Update

Any summary of anything that changed with these, or is this just an update that these are posted?

They forgot one rule NO LINE JUMPING

Is the bit about "large tripods" new? That may freak out some of my friends on the Dis photography board! How are they defining "large"?

Bueller? Bueller? Anyone?

I'd assume similar to those you see the photo pass photographers with, can be clunky to carry around a park.

I was wondering about that one myself... only one that allows interpretation.

This reminded me to take my little flexible bendy tripod thingy (yes, I can really get technical when I type) when I head down tomorrow, so I guess the rules aren't a bad thing. LOL

For the comfort of all Guests, smoking of tobacco, e-cigarettes or other products that produce a vapor or smoke are (sic) allowed only in designated smoking areas.

I'm glad they're cracking down on the use of e-cigs in the parks, requiring users to go to a smoking section. Far too many e-cig users make the assumption that they can "vape" anywhere they like, disregarding private property rights. Disney needs to hire an editor; no one says, "Smoking are allowed..."

Do you think Disney should make a private business decision and go completely smoke free on all of its properties?

Proper attire, including shoes and shirts, must be worn at all times. We reserve the right to deny admission to or remove any person wearing
attire that we consider inappropriate or attire that could detract from the experience of other Guests.

This rule needs to be enforced to a greater degree during Gay Days. Yes, I'm gay, and no, I've never seen vulgar expressions on shirts at Disney other than during Gay Days, and I frequent WDW often.

The distribution of printed or recorded materials of any kind.

I used to hand out business cards with a list of Disney must-do attractions to guests who seemed undecided about their plans or who were at Disney for the first time. I guess I can't do that anymore.

I agree with the clarification on use of e-cigarettes. I was in an emergency room last week with DH and there was a woman using an e-cig in the waiting room. She was sitting right under a no smoking sign, and a nurse came over and told her she needed to stop, she argued with her that she wasn't smoking and she had every right to use that in the hospital if she wanted to. The nurse said if she did not stop she would be removed because she was putting vapor with un proven and undocumented materials into a medical environment where there were sick people.. The woman then said prove these are not safe, at which time the nurse said, I don't need to since these are the rules of the hospital but, I will get the documents of the latest study for you to read showing that they're not regulated and not as safe as people think they are. The woman stormed out the door. I couldn't believe that this was even a discussion in an ER waiting room!

Excellent post.

E-cigarette users think that because their vapor is smokeless they can use e-cigs anywhere they want, without asking the private property owner if they're allowed. I've seen people use them in local supermarkets, IKEA in Orlando, and hospital lobbies. Their nicotine addiction should never trump private property rights.

with all due respect, not all e-cig users are like that. Yes, there are some bad apples, but that goes for all walks of life, there are bad apples everywhere. I vape because I don't want to smoke, but I'm also considerate of any rules of an establishment that I might go to and the vast majority of e-cig users are like that, then you have people that have an attitude like those that don't follow the rules, I actually hate those people because they will ruin it for the rest of us.

Back on topic, as for the new rules pertaining to them, I have no problem with them. I would love nothing more than to see a vaping only sections of the park so I don't have to go near analog smokers, but it is what it is and I will follow the rules as they are placed, plus I really don't vape much when I go to theme parks, too busy doing other stuff.

Not to quibble, but e-cigarettes are also 'analog' (as in not digital). They do differ from 'traditional' cigarettes in that the 'analog' substances that you inhale are composed of different sets of chemicals.

OK, I guess I was quibbling - but isn't that what the Dis is for? pirate:
