Has anyone ever had a problem leaving a car at a resort where they were going to be checking in later that day?

In June, we will be arriving late on a Saturday and spending the night in a non-Disney hotel. Early the next day, we would love to ditch the car at SSR (where we will be checking in later) and take a bus over to DHS. At the end of the day, we would take the bus back to SSR and check in for the night.

Anyone know of any problems with this plan? We've never stayed at SSR before, so we don't know how the parking & security works.

Should be none as you need to tell the guard when you drive in that you are checking in that day and your name will be on the check in list - then you can just self park and go.

I personally would drop all my luggage with a steward and check in even if room is not ready so when you return at the end of the day you can go straight to your room There is a number you call to get your room # (they give you key cards even if room is not ready) and then you can call and have luggage brought up.

Why check in at SSR later? Check in early that day, get your key to the world cards (which will not be activated at that time) and leave your bags with bell services. When your room is ready later in the day, you will be able to use your key to the world card to enter it.

Actually your cards are activated this is important because tickets may be added and your DDP is on your card; you just won't have a room number given to you.

My guess is when you check in early, they assign your room and link it to your KTTW card, but they just don't tell you the room, but if you went and checked every room in the resort, my guess is it would open one as the card is probably full activated (this is just a guess though).

Thanks for the help, everyone. I wouldn't have guessed that you can check in and get what I would consider a room key without actually having a room to go to.
