Crowds were low (i.e. in line with they've been in recent weeks) when the park opened. However, by 11:00, the heat came and so did the people, which is, of course, typical. I believe that all AP levels were unblocked, which is always a reliable predictor of crowds.

As many of you know (where my pin collectors at? ;-)), the five limited edition Oogie Boogie Bash pins were released at last Tuesday's party. On the following day I was able to buy two of them. However, at the park yesterday they were no longer available outside of the OBB. I'd been allowed to buy mine on Wednesday but apparently that was a fluke, so I got very lucky. CMs told me that they weren't supposed to be sold. I've always been pretty lucky and that was merely another instance of it. CMs also told me that there were definitely some left however nearly each one I spoke with gave me a slightly different story about their availability so I won't share anything I was told since it's as likely to be wrong as it is to be right.

All of the AP/special buckets were still available as of yesterday morning. Several of us had expected them to be sold out already.

I went on a scouting quest for the poison apple glow cubes. I've seen pics online of all four of them being sold together in one box. However, everywhere I looked I found nothing. Often CMs didn't seem to know what I was talking about and the ones that did all told me different things about its availability. I've been told that they're available at Carthay Circle. In fact, I just called them and was told that guests can buy a box of three with the original trio of colors and then must buy a drink to get the fourth/black one. The box is large enough to accommodate the fourth apple. I was told that there's no AP discount (since it's an alcohol sale) and will cost approx $37 with the cubes and drink. I'll verify this in person next Sunday.

We were first on PP. There were two people (from a family of four) that tried to run around us but they listened (stop laughing -- I'm serious) when CMs asked them not to run. When I got to the queue, I was happy to let them have my first place but they were a little too far behind us to make that happen easily. Also, a friend was slightly put out with them because the mother of the group elbowed him (or nearly did) as she tried to pass him. Had I known that (he told me after the ride), I would never have suggested letting them go first.

So frustrating! I thought that I'd broken 2M on the first gun so I stopped shooting and picked up the second one. As many of you know, when you exceed ≈ 2,096,000, your score will reset and everything will be lost (which is why I stopped shooting. It's not always easy to keep track of your score in your head). It's happened to me countless times.

And a few more:

As many of you know, these crystal creations are exceptionally expensive. I spoke with a CM in the shop and she explained that they're made with Austrian crystal. The Dumbo statuette costs... $8,500.

As you can see, this entire one-piece collection costs $15,000. The CM at the store told me that they sell about two of them per year.

Love the DeLorean! We were at MHP one year and met a guy dressed as Marty McFly -- fabulous costume, perfect detail right down to all the props! Had a very fun chat with him about his adventures tracking down every piece of his costume -- he was fastidious about making sure that each piece was as authentic as possible. Then we saw a guy dressed as Doc Brown pushing a stroller decorated as the DeLorean! So creative!

Have you ever been to the Doc Brown house in Pasadena? It's very easy to reach -- right off the freeway. As you may already know, it's actually called The Gamble House.Gamble.jpg

Yes! You can take a guided tour of the Gamble House -- beautiful Craftsman architecture and, I think, one of the inspirations for the GCH (?) -- the staircase alone is stunning!

Great pics and the Delorean is awesome. They had one on Jay Leno's garage not too long ago (video is out there), maybe it was the same one. And I think there is a company that actually builds replicas for sale. Gotta love it.

Lastly Adam The Woo did a tour of the Gamble house during a Back to the Future event. It's a fun video.

I think I’ve seen a video about the company that does the mods.

There used to be a place in FL that made Mach 5s (Speed Racer’s car) built on a Corvette chassis. I believe they were $250,000. There’s also a place in Indiana that makes officially licensed 1966 Batmobiles to order.

All right--we need your Buzz tips for getting such a high score. I know some (middle of Zurg's chest) but there must be more?

All right--we need your Buzz tips for getting such a high score. I know some (middle of Zurg's chest) but there must be more?

OK - hope these tips help.

· Only ever shoot diamonds (5,000 points) and triangles (10,000 points – 50,000 when lit). Shoot squares only when lit (5,000 points). Know that shooting one triangle is the scoring equivalent to shooting 100 circles. Don’t waste time on circles.

· Shoot targets multiple times, not just once. I often leave the first room with 250,000 – 300,000 points.

· If you have trouble hitting targets, take a moment to shoot at a blank wall to determine if your gun is shooting high, low or to one side. Often times that’s the key. Not all guns are created equal ;-).

· Make note of where the triangle targets are and go for them as often as possible. For example, in the second to last room (where the second Zurg is), there’s one behind you as you near the exit. You have to shoot the circle beneath it to make it pop up. That alone -- hitting it ten times -- can earn players at least 100,000 points.

· This won’t be an issue for most players, but be aware that if you exceed approximately 2,096,000, your score will reset and you’ll lose everything. This happens to me regularly and it’s very frustrating. The challenge is that once you exceed 1M points, the cruiser will only display 999999. You’ll need to keep track (or try to) in your head. This has been an issue for the past three years or so. I’ve raised it with Disney many times but I think it unlikely that they’ll ever fix it. They tell me that the game is designed to do that; it's not a bug. It was never meant to allow players to exceed that score. The way it performs now is the way it was always intended to.

· On a related note, scores above 1M will only display at the photo kiosks at the ride exit. Lately there’ve been problems with scores flowing through with pictures. I’ve also raised this issue with Disney and hopefully it will be corrected.

· Lastly, my father was a marksman in the army. When he taught me to shoot a pistol when I was 12, I hit a dead-center bullseye from 50 yards on my absolute first try. In short, I’ve always been a great shot.

Thanks @WonkaKid! I may or may not be sharing these tips with DH. Maybe, just maybe, I'll stand a chance! ;)
Yeah I'm definitely not telling anyone in my family!

A few years ago my husband looked up the "secret" target (is it still a secret??) and now I cannot beat him any more. Boo.

Use my tips wisely and you will. It’s rare that I don’t break 1M. As to secret targets, other than the ones that are known commonly, there really aren’t any. At least of which I’m aware :-).
