I arrived at the entrance by DTD at 6:55 and there were about 80 people in line ahead of me. But once we were through the security line, I walked with intention to the park gates and got the last remaining first-in-line spot — at gate 15, right in the middle. Once the park opened, I moved up Main Street. There were runners aplenty today so I was deprived of my favorite pic: an empty Main Street (missed it by about two seconds).

At rope drop I was able to be first on PP. But again, there were a lot of runners and the coveted position was nearly robbed of me once or twice. I was also first on Mr. Toad :-).

Of course after Fantasyland, I went directly to Buzz. Scoring is still janky… and always will be. After sixteen months of closure, nothing has changed and it’s not going to. Four or five times my scores simply didn’t come through. Fortunately, none of them were particularly good :-). By the end of the day I snatched the top position on the board at 1,974,200. There was something in the air today and I simply couldn’t summit 2M. By way of consolation, I made two new CM friends on the attraction and at least one of them will be there next Sunday, as will be some friends I haven’t seen since the war broke out ;-). So I’ll have that to look forward to all week.

As you can see below, it seemed like there were a lot of people at rope drop. But of course once all of the guests diffused through the park, it felt perfectly manageable. I spoke to a security CM I know and he confirmed something I've suspected for awhile: it takes fewer CMs to do a rope drop at the head of Main Street than it does to do it from the hub. Fewer CMs means a lower cost, which is why we see the MS RDs for now. It's likely to revert to the traditional rope drop as capacity limits ease.

I picked up several DL and DCA maps. If anyone would like a set, please send me a DM with your preferred mailing address.

One of these days I really need to figure out Buzz. My scores are shockingly bad for the number of times I've been on the ride. The sight must work totally differently from duck hunt on which I am not shabby... :tilt:

Incidentally, many of you may have noticed that the images of the Buzz scoreboard are sharper than they used to be. That's because new monitors in the photo kiosk area were part of the recent (and largely negligent) refurb. The scoring issues -- scores not coming through with pics and scores that exceed 2,096,000 being reset -- are still very much present and at this point it seems certain that they'll never be fixed. It doesn't appear there's any will to do so. Without any will, there isnt any way ;-).
