Park passes released now - Friday June 4th!

I guess you have a choice to make then. I choose to think positive! You do you!
Oh we’re going regardless, and any day at Disney beats a day at home and work! I tend to be a worrier and would never be accused of wearing rose colored glasses lol. But we’ll all see, I will hope for the best!

Wow lots of people don’t want things to go back to normal!? Seriously? Anything that moves the arrow in the “normal” direction is a positive! Plus CP is back in action within days, so staffing will be increased exponentially thus opening of more things. Think positive people, it’s a refreshing thing!
I do want normal, but that includes theater shows, street entertainment, more dining reservations, fireworks, etc. not just bigger crowds . The other should come first or simultaneously or you have poorer guest satisfaction.

I feel the same. We are all relieved that we have turned a corner with the pandemic that will allow us to get back to normal, but I think they are putting the cart before the horse by bringing in bigger crowds first. Yes, Disney is hiring like crazy and moving in the right direction, but this will not happen overnight, and those with June and July vacations may be impacted. I am trying to remain positive for our mid July trip, but realistically increased crowds along with the absence of FP+ will be the biggest challenge. Not sure if FP + will ever return, but I am sure there will be many exciting developments this summer to keep us on our toes. :)

Ok once more for the people in the back. They are hiring like crazy and bringing CPs back. More things are opening, stay tuned and stay positive!
Appreciate your optimism and certainly I am all for a return to normal. But when they suddenly open up reservations for two weeks from now, which is our trip, I can only see that as adding people to the crowds. I don’t know when the new CP CMs are going to be active, but I have not heard of any new people eaters, like shows, opening up at that same time. Yes they are opening up Tusker House, so that’s good. But that tells me that they need two weeks to ramp up, so I don’t see any more restaurants reopening during our trip.

Yes, crowds are fine now. But isn’t that more of a function of the time of year? Late May/early June is often the lull before the schools-out crowd arrive. Do we know if capacity right now was what it was for two weeks from now (before they opened it up)? I don’t know the answer to that. But if you read reports from March and April, with more crowds and longer wait times, I was planning to have those types of waits in late June. I was not counting on what folks are experiencing right now. So, for me, and everyone else arriving as soon as their kids are done with school, i can only see it as just a net increase to our crowds.

And just to pile on, this trip is our rescheduled 2020 spring break trip (the week leading up to Easter). So I was prepared for crowds. But I had an after hours party scheduled, all my FPs lined up, other activities scheduled, etc. These are not options for me this time. So when WDW moves the goal post on me two weeks out in, what feels like, a net negative way, I’m gonna react negatively to it.
