ok, so we are going April 19th to April 28th. we arrive at 5pm on the 19th so thats a non park day and we leave at 945am on the 28th so thats a non park day. so that leaves us 8 full days in Orlando.

i am considering buying 6 day passes. with no expiration (just in case!)

i am travelling with my 3 year old and 15 month old and hubbie. and his family but I am not worrying about them!

heres my questions.

1- is 6 days too many? too few?
2- we are considering a water park too, which one would you recommend and is it cheaper to just add the water park for a day or buy the add-on to the park pass?
3- if i buy a 6 day pass, that leaves me with 2 full days to do other things. what would you do? non disney such as universal or sea world.....or something else?

thanks for all the advice. you guys and gals have been an enormous help!

Six days at Disney is plenty.

If you are going to two water parks, or one water park plus Disney Quest, then buying the add on (Water park fun & more) is better. Just one visit to a water park or to Disney Quest and a separate admission is better.

You are probably better off not getting non-expiration unless the remains of the ticket are sufficient to completely cover some future vacation (not necessarily your very next). You can add more days, up to ten including the days already consumed, if you want. You can add the non-expiration and/or more days during your vacation, preferably not at the last minute on the last day when you have a Magical Express bus or a plane to catch.

Universal and Sea World are always good bets. YOu may also think of other places, such as Ripley's Believe It Or Not, when looking at brochures in restaurants and hotels other than at Disney where none are displayed.

Let me start by saying I am Disney crazy. We are about to leave on our 8th trip and have yet to visit anything not on Disney property. We have talked about Universal and SeaWorld but cannot pull away from Disney to make it over.

That being said: With two smaller children I would purchase the eight day ticket with hopper and plus options. I believe they are only $6 more per adult and $5 more per child so it would cost your party a mere $17 for the two extra days. With the extra days you can take it a little easier when you tour the parks, hit attractions at the kids pace and return to your resort if the kids get tired. I agree with seashoreCM that I would hold off on the non-expire option until the end of the trip. I believe you have up to 14 days from the first use of the ticket if you see the need to add this option.
