I just reserved a park'n'fly room at the HIE Buffalo Airport for $149. It includes the usual: breakfast (we'll have to carry it out), shuttle to&from the airport, parking for up to 14 days.

My question is this: I've never done park'n'fly - is this a good rate? Can you get park'n'fly rates/rooms on hotwire?

Some feedback from seasoned BUF travelers would be appreciated! TIA.

at the Holiday Inn Express (Buell Ave, across from the airport) have all been favourable; the room clean and tidy, staff friendly and shuttle service great. Our flights have always been very early morning (we've stayed there four times) with no wait for the shuttle to or from the airport. We are booked to stay again in a few weeks time. Our rate for this trip (park 'n' fly with up to 14 days parking) at $129 is the best rate we've ever had. This was booked directly through their website; we've never used Hotwire so I can't comment on that. Hope this is helpful and all the best to you.:)

I know I'm on the other coast but is there a Marriott Towne Place or Springhill Suites with shuttle service to airport?
We are staying at Marriott Towne Place Suites in Seattle, near airport and paying $70.00 and they let you leave your car for however long you are away without restriction for free. Last August we were in Florida for a month.
They also have breakfast, worth while checking. Click in the link for Deals at this Hotel.

Use priceline and bid $52.00 under Buffalo-Amherst and get the Mariott Amherst which is the only 3.5* hotel. It is the only 3.5* under Buffalo-Amherst so you will get it. We stayed there on Boxing Day since we went over to do a little shopping and it's a very nice hotel. It is 5 miles from airport and have a free shuttle to the airport as well. Even if you had to pay for parking at the airport it would be less than $149 + tax with a park and fly. You could call the Mariott and ask them if you could leave your vehicle there for free. We flew out of Pittsburgh last March break and paid $35.00 for Marriott and we were able to leave our van for free.

UPDATE: Someone else called the hotel on another forum and the hotel confirmed that even if you book through Priceline or Hotwire you can leave your vehicle for free at the hotel. This makes it a great deal!

Oooh... that sounds very good. Is the shuttle service prompt? We have a very early flight and would have to be at the airport by 6:30am..... *groan*.

You could always call the hotel and ask them what time the first shuttle leaves for the airport but I'm sure you won't have a problem. You register at the ront desk for the time you would like to take shuttle. I haven't used the shuttle at this Marriott but most of them leave for the airport every 30 minutes if their are people registered.

Webworm, we can't thank you enough!

:worship:

We followed your advice exactly, went on Priceline (for our very first time, I might add), and we got the Buffalo-Amherst Marriott! For $50.00!

DH was so impressed that we booked it for our return night... had to pay slightly more (Friday night, I think the rates are slightly higher) but still got it for such a reasonable price, $64.00!!! :yay:

Our thanks. You saved us a ton of money, and it was very helpful to get "guided" through our first time on Priceline.

Your Welcome! Glad it all worked out for you.

HI, I am so super happy I read this post. We were actually looking at a park and fly for Buf as well for March 7th for the night, and parking for 14 days. I called the hotel directly before using priceline, and they said that it was complimentary parking and you didn't pay anything because you were a guest of their hotel. As long as we were staying there. You have to fill out a paper at the front desk with your plate number and stuff. Also free complimentary shuttle there and back to your car.
I have used Hotwire once before for downtown Toronto, and that didn't turn out well, we got a room with no beds, just couches and they brought roll aways in for us.
I have never used Priceline, and I thought I am giving this a try, cause every penny saved is a penny I can use at Disney..... right. So I won the bid at $50. My only concern is that there is 4 of us. Will we get a room for 4 people. It says on priceline you are only guaranteed for 2 adults. Anyone have any experience with this?
Now I would love to try car rentals but am very afraid to do so. Anyone do car rentals with them?
Thanks to the original poster, and to webworm for this great thread!!!

I have used Priceline many times and what I do is always call the hotel directly after I book it and request a room with 2 double or queen beds. I have not once ever had a problem, knock on wood. The Marriott in Amherst is a large hotel so I know you will be fine but you can call the toll free number directly to the hotel to confirm.

I have never used Priceline for a car rental but it's definitely an option. Your dates are March 7 - 21st for a car rental looks like and what size vehicle?

Actually the car rental is for 11 days. I asked for 14 days parking just to be on the safe side. Didn't matter anyhow, cause it was complimentary!
So it is actually March 8th at MCO for 4:30pm, and drop off on March 19th at 8:30 am at MCO. I have one booked through Thrifty right now, that seems to be the best price and am not giving it up. It is a total of $273.63 US. Thanks again for all your help. Will it take a day or 2 for the Marriott to get my ressie, or will it be there already for me to call and tell them i need at least 2 dbls? Also, how close to Galleria Mall is the hotel?
THanks for everything!

Just wanted to add that I have stayed at the hotel that is being mentioned in this thread and it offered us 100% customer service. DS had left his "baby blanket" in the bed in Dec 08. We realized this just after checking in at BUF. He has carried this blanket with him everywhere for many years. I called the hotel from BUF and told them the situation. Someone actually went up to the room, found the blanket (he had left in in the bed), retrieved it and sent it with the next shuttle (they depart every 20-30 minutes I think). Talk about customer service.

The hotel itself is also super clean with a great lounge area in the lobby where the kids watched tv on a huge flatscreen tv while I went on line and printed off boarding passes etc. The computer is free and is high speed. The only think that it does not offer vs. other area hotels is a complimentary breakfast.

The indoor pool area is also very nice and very clean. If I had known about this priceline thing I would have stayed here again in Dec 09 compared to the comfort suites on Dick Rd.

Sounds like a pretty good deal on car rental so far from what I can tell. When you book on priceline or hotwire the reservation with the actual hotel is immediate so you can call hotel right away. We went to the Walden Galeria from the hotel and it was about a 10 minute drive.

Hi thanks Webworm, called the hotel and put in a request for 2 beds, and she said she noted it in my ressie!!! THanks for all your help, my hubby was very happy when he came home last night. Looks like there is an Olive Garden close to the hotel as well, and we have never been able to eat at 1, but he has always wanted to. So that is on the list as well. There is also an OG close to Cypress Pointe where we are staying, so we will try it in Buf and if we like it we can go again!!!

Just a heads up. We just booked on Priceline too which was great but when we called they said there was no guarantee that we could get 2 beds instead of 1 king especially on weekends and that was with all Marriotts and Priceline. So we may end up with 3 to one bed and one on the couch but at least it's for one night!

The parking was still complimentary though.

Thanks!

HI I am a newbie on priceline, I tried to do this bidding thing, but it wants my credit card info before I can see which hotel I am getting, does this sound right to you ? or I just clicked the wrong link ?..:sad2:

Yes, that's the way they do it. You give your credit card and when you bid, you are doing it knowing they can give you any hotel in the area you checked off that has that star rating that you also checked off.

oic...so there might be a chance that I would get a hotel without free parking...hum...
