Park hours on NYE?!?!

Anyone think Disney will extend hours on NYE? Right now the hours for the 30th are 8-10 for MK, 10-9 for Epcot, 9-8 for HS, and 7-7 for AK, but then on the 31st they’re 9-7 for MK, 12-8 for Epcot, 10-7 for HS, and 9-5 for AK... that seems very odd to me.

Obviously, I am not part of the decision making process at the parks, but I would not anticipate them extending. I really get the impression that they don’t want people gathering in big groups on New Year’s Eve.

Yes, I do. At MK anyways. I also feel it will be announced sort of last minute. I believe that is why they were testing the fireworks a few nights ago.

What would be the difference if they extend park hours? The parks still have the same limited capacity. So it would be basically the same amount of people independent of closing time.

People gathering in a big group at the hub at MK or in front of Chinese theatre hoping for surprise fireworks, 3 more hours for people to drink too much at Epcot leading to poor decision making. But, as I said, this is just a guess.

It means overtime pay or more cast members on duty. With all the layoffs, they aren't going to bring in a lot more CMs for a few hours.

On stage cm at the parks are not in short supply. All of attraction and custodial were recalled and most of culinary and merchandise, that's not a problem at all

I’m not planning to go on NYE anymore, but I did just notice a change! MK is 8-11, Epcot is 10-10, HS is 9-9, and AK is 7-8! I’m hoping they extend January hours too.

NYE is my son's birthday so we will be in MK extended hours or no extended hours!
