Park hours in August

Hello!
Is there a reason why the parks are at peak hours for the first weeks of August but shift to low by the August 14? I'm a little baffled that they are closing early the week of the D23 Expo. Is there any chance that the hours will be adjusted?

This is the typical hours pattern for that time of year. I doubt they will change, but Disney does make changes sometimes.

Back in 2012 when I went in mid-August the hours were like they will be for the first week; open at 8 close at midnight (for DL anyway). Then in either 2013 same time frame but the parks closed earlier. Then I'm fairly certain in
2014 they changed to open at 9am and close at 11pm and it's been pretty close to that ever since.

Darn, we arrive on 8/14 and will hit the park on 8/15 and 8/17.

I believe this is because most schools are starting back to school in August now.

They seem all over the place! I am going the 19th through the 22nd and the whole week before they open at 9am all week (close at 12am some nights and 11pm others). Then the week I am there it’s back to opening at 8am with a 12am close on the 19th and 11pm the rest of the week. I figure they plan the hours based on typical crowd levels for that time of year and what else is going on.

Darn, we arrive on 8/14 and will hit the park on 8/15 and 8/17.

NB the odd hours for DCA on 8/15. I think this is due to a private event.
