Park hours and what to do

Hey guys, I am in need of some help. We originally had a vacation planned and now my mil wants to come. I am really excited though because it will be me, dh, ds7,dd4, my mom, and mil. We are driving down on a Friday and will get to WDW in late afternoon, we will only have Sat & Sun for the parks with them. We will be doing MNSSHP on Sun night, and mil has never been to any other parks other than Mk, so we want to get in as much as possible. My mom wants to go to Ak, and me, Dh, and kids don't really care because we will be there for another week after they leave on Monday. Can someone please help me figure out what to do???

PS:I know that in Oct they have shorter hours in the park, when do they show the spectromagic parade?? Is it only on Sat, and do they have extended hours on Sat at Mk ?? Thanks

Spectromagic isn't always on the same day. I've been where the only showing all week was Saturday. Also, been where the only showing for the week was Tuesday. Last year MK was open pretty much until 7pm most nights. If you can get there at opening , you'll still see plenty in that time.
