So December of 2015 was our first family trip to Disney. We are going to Disney again in December of this year. I don't remember exactly when December hours were released last year, but I feel like it was around Feb-April. I might be wrong.
Maybe its just me but it seems that Disney has been releasing each month's schedule around 165 days out. So anyone that takes a trip in the first 2 weeks of the month have to book their ADRs blind. We wanted to try Park Hopper this trip and hit the all EHM morning parks for low lines and switch to different parks at night. To further complicate things we have these new special pay for early or late hour nights. Also Animal Kingdom is going to be getting all new hours.
So here are my questions.
1.) What is the norm? Did I get lucky when Disney released its December hours so early last year? Or is Disney just dropping the ball this year?
2.) What is the best source for Park Hours? Maybe the site I am using is delayed. I would like something in calendar format that shows all times for special events like parades and Fantasmic.
3.) In the event that the schedule isn't released by the 180 day mark, is there anything I can do to help make educated guesses? Right now I plan to visit Magic Kingdom on MVMCP days for the low crowds, then hit different parks at night. But the nights where there is no party, I hope to hit the parks with extended morning hours.
4.) We might do a water park this trip. I thought Disney rotated closures each year and that Typhoon Lagoon was closed in December, so I am guessing they are open this year.
