Hi everyone! So excited to be in Disney World for the first time in over a decade in just a few weeks! We were lucky enough to get free water park passes for our stay and since my boyfriend loves water parks, we definitely want to use them. I am deciding between two plans timing-wise and would love your advice on which would work better:

1) We go to Epcot Futureworld in the morning and use our FP's for the rides we really want to do. Then, head over the Blizzard Beach after lunch, do some rides and then come back to Epcot for dinner and to walk around the Worlds area a bit.

2) Go to Blizzard Beach first thing in the morning and do as much as possible. Then, around lunch time, head over the Epcot, use our FP's for the rides and then just walk over the World Showcase/dinner.

Basically, I'm not sure if there are any benefits to getting to Epcot early that would outweigh having to travel between the parks, which will probably be annoying. In case it matters, we are just two 23-year-olds (no kids) and we will be staying on site at Coronado Springs.

Thanks in advance!

I would probably pick option 2, but it depends on other factors. Will you have a car? How long is your trip? Is this your only day for Epcot?

Welcome to The DIS and I prefer (2).:)

You can do a lot before BB gets crowded and then go back to CSR(right "across" the street from BB) for a while and shower, etc. and then head to Epcot for the rest of the day.

But,that's just my personal preference.:)

I think option 2 is better. Any time you can cut out an extra mode of transportation the better. Curious...any reason you chose Blizzard Beach over Typhoon?

I personally like the "the less I have to travel, the better" philosophy. I would go with option 2 and do BB first and then head over to EC. I would also FP Soarin' and then use the single rider line for TT so that you can do both with less waiting. Just about every time my wife and I (no kids) have used the single rider line, we have ended up in the same car (if not we are in consecutive cars). I would also set your FP times starting for around 3 or 4, to give yourself time to shower and rest a little before heading out. Waterparks can be exhausting.

If it is your only trip to EC, I would do CS for dinner and watch IllumiNations. If it is not your only trip to EC, I would make an ADR for around 8:30 or 9 at a WS TS restaurant and enjoy the quiet walk through an empty EC to the buses.

We've done water parks in the afternoon a few times when we were "parked out" from the morning, and we like rope drop, so we would lean towards option 1. But that was off-season, don't know how busy water parks get during the summer, when they start to clear out after lunch, etc. Agreed that option 2 would be a more relaxing day. Advantage of option 1 would be multiple rides on Soarin' and/or TestTrack. If we had multiple days at Epcot to do World Showcase rides, we might choose option 2.

Number two. Too much travel time in the other plan.

Thank you, everyone! Looks like we will go with #2. This is our only day for Epcot, sadly. But it was already a pretty hard sell to come to Disney at all, so when my boyfriend got excited about the waterpark idea, I knew I had to fit it in!

My instinct was to do Blizzard over Typhoon since it looks like it's really close to our hotel and we could go back instead of having to bring a change of clothes. Are there any big difference between them that would make one a better option, though?

#2 sounds good to me! BB is amazing. Good choice. I'd plan on staying from 10-1, then head over to Epcot.

I would do option #2. Crowds tend to build as the day goes on in all the park. You are more likely to get to do what you want at a water park earlier in the day without as much of a crowd. If you go with option 2, you can have your FP+ for the afternoon at Epcot and not have to wait in line for the fusiest rides at the busiest time of the day.

Also, option #1 is more complicated travel wise. You'll be going resort --> Epcot --> waterpark --> Epcot --> resort. And I'm not sure how easy the trip to the waterpark is to/from Epcot, I don't know if there is a direct bus or if you need to go to a resort in between.

They are both good. I was just at BB a few weeks ago and had a blast. I was just curious if you researched the differences between them to see which makes more sense for your style. Have fun!

#2.

It's hot enough in the morning (um... in the summer) that the water park is enjoyable. Then, after lunch, the water park gets very crowded. We found getting there at rope drop and leaving after lunch for a park works really well.
