Ugh...I just found out that we have DCA reservations for 4/8 but a reservation at Oga's around 5pm. How likely is it that we'll be able to get into the park if it is "sold out" in the morning (I haven't checked recently but I know a number of days were at capacity)? Also do I need to enter DCA first or can I go straight over to DL? I'll be working all morning but my mom and son will be enjoying the parks.

I imagine that people will want to leave the park at some point to hop to DCA. Do we just need to go hang out by the gate around 1pm and hope for the best? Sorry, I know how this works in WDW but not in Cali.

Do you have a park hopper reservation? If so, you will have no issues hopping over to Disneyland after 1pm. Sold out doesn’t mean at capacity. If you have a park hopper ticket, you will need to scan into DCA before you can enter DL.

It's similar to WDW. I think DLR has only locked out park-hoppers on one day so far - NYE last year. The parks being at reservation capacity has no impact on the ability to park-hop (they've clearly budgeted it in). They're mostly just trying to stop the huge swings when one park has something unique going on (eg, NYE fireworks).

If you have a park hopper, you’re good to enter DL at 1pm.

If you don’t have a park hopper, you can theoretically upgrade to a park hopper at the ticket booth but that is subject to reservation availability and at such a busy time of year that is going to be difficult.

Even then it was definitely not until after 10pm or just periodically for crowds to even out. We went NYE with a DCA starting park hopper and got it to Disneyland for the countdown, no problem at about 10pm.

If you have a park hopper ticket you’ll very likely get in.
