We will drive to the parks each day from our offsite timeshare. If we want to park hop (without a break at the resort in between), are we better served driving ourselves or hopping on a bus? Can anyone ride the buses or are they for onsite guests only?

You can use the Disney buses, but make sure there will be a bus back to the park you are leaving. For example, if HS closes at 9 and MK closes at 11, you can't take a bus back to get your car.

We do both depending on the schedule of the day, how rushed you are and how late the park where you car will be is open.

MOST the time we drive to each.

If you decide to drive, save your receipt and you won’t have to pay parking at the next park.

If we are driving to a park, we will drive to the second park vs. using Disney transport. Even when we have to pay for parking, you only need to pay once for the day so there's no penalty for moving the car. Nicer to have your car at the current park too at the end of the day.

We also usually drive park to park. We will use Disney transportation if we are starting and finishing in the same park. There have been times that we have started at MK hopped over to EPCOT and then back to MK for a later night. We find it easier to ride the monorail to and from EPCOT. The only other parks we do that way is the boat from EPCOT to DS and back. It's also a nice break in the afternoon on a hot day.

We tried the buses one year with the same reasoning when the kids were small and with the stroller, the wait and crowded buses, we swore we would never bus it again.

We always drive. Never used a WDW bus and never will (I know, never say "never", but close enough). The only exceptions are MK - Epcot, as we use the monorail...and once in a blue moon, when we're not in a hurry, the ferry from HS - Epcot

Anybody can use the buses, but why would you want to?

  • It's easier and faster to just drive
  • you show your receipt at the next park and don't pay
  • and you drive straight back to your resort at the end of the day instead of busing back to where you parked your car.
No brainer to me!
