My wife , daughter and I hope to make our first family trip the DisneyWorld in August and I was wondering how useful people find the Park Hopper Option. We will be staying 6 days and nights and plan to go to the water parks as well.

Park Hopping is very important to us. We usually go to a park in the morning, then go to the hotel for a rest then to a different park in the evening.

SOOO VERY IMPORTANT to us! We really hate it when AK closes at 5ish but at least we are not done for the day. We can go to Epcot for dinner. It gives us more options and much more park time!

Personally, I like park - hopping (we have APs)

but i dont know if i'd pay EXTRA to have it ... for a family of 4 it really adds up.

you still can go to a park in the am ... go back to you resort ... and then return in the evening to the SAME park.

i'd be real careful about picking what day in which park ... we plan on avoiding the EMH days.

have a magical day :wizard:

I don't know what we would do without being able to "hop." I honestly don't recall a day where we stayed at the same park all day, except for New Year's Eve in 2001. We were afraid to leave, because we didn't know if we could get back in (capacity.)

We also love the park hopping option. We used every day on our visits. Typically we would do one park in the morning, MGM, and around 2:00 go back to the resort to relax, maybe eat some supper there. Then we head out to another park, MK, to catch some rides and see the fireworks. I think on at least one occasion we did 3 parks in one day, MGM in the morning, Epcot for supper and MK for fireworks and EMH. I feel like we get so much more out of our vacation this way.

Park hopping is a must for us. There are very few days where we don't park hop, usually only our arrival and departure days. We usually do MK monorail to Epcot. Or Epcot boat to MGM. Or do early morning MK, relax at resort, then late afternoon at AK.

We always park hop for a few reasons. It makes for a more enjoyable trip-we need those midday breaks to relax, freshen up, and take on the next park. We would crash and burn if we tried to do one park all day. Besides-we find the parks are more enjoyable overall when we dont spend the whole day there. We do a 1/2 day in one park, back to resort for naps, swims and snacks, then shower and head back out to another park for the evening. Highly recommend too if you are doing a water park b/c you will have the option to go to another park that night without losing any days. :)

1) If the option is affordable, do it.
2) We do like to hop
. . . for convenience
. . . for diversity
. . . for activities after a park would close
. . . for ability to ride favorite rides
3) If it stretches the budget, don't do it.
. . . the fun is in the park, not necessarily hopping
. . . this is the first visit, and you might want to see more of the same park
. . . better to save a few bucks than bust a budget
