Park hopper w/ waterpark unfair?

I definitely wanted to buy a park hopper pass and since I absoulutely love typhoon lagoon wave pool...I needed to add the water park option on to the pass. It seems a little unfair with the cost since Blizzard Beach will be closed for refurbishment. Same price for the ticket...one less waterpark open...also meaning more people at typhoon lagoon. Just needed to vent on that one.

There will be far fewer people swimming at this time of year even with one waterpark open.
That's why they do the refurb when they do.

It is a bit of a bummer, but they have to refurb the water park at some point and this tends to be a slower time of year. I guess the same could be said about park hours (they're much shorter from September onward, with the exception of the holiday period), but I do think it reflects the lighter crowd levels, so the wait times shouldn't be significantly longer. Not having a choice between TL and BB is sort of the trade-off when you get the perks for traveling off-season (lower resort rates, lighter crowds, etc).

Would it be cheaper to just buy a one day ticket to TL than to add the waterpark option? I'm just asking because I don't know.

also wondering this.

Plus, the waterpark option gives you the DisneyQuest and Pleasure Island as well, right?! So it can still be a good option if you can venture to those places. I'll be there when BB is closed, but am looking forward to DisneyQuest, as we haven't been there before.

This is the reason that we opted for this. If we have a nice enough day to go to a waterpark, we'll go to TL for sure. I've heard that the water temp is kept pretty warm (can anyone confirm this one?) so as long as it's in the high 70s, we'd go there for sure! We scheduled Wednesday of our week as an off day, just for this or to hang out at the pool. We plan on doing Disney Quest more than once. Oldest DD is looking forward to that so much.

Question on the waterpark option - how many entries into TL or DQ does this permit? That's a bit unclear to me....

If you are only going to one waterpark, it is cheaper to just buy tickets ($37 or so vs $50 or so) than to add the Waterparks n More option. We just had the concierge figure that up for us two days ago!

Last trip we bought the water parks and more option, we went to DQ and TL. I was not overly impressed with DQ. This trip I think we will not purchase the option and just pay OOP for TL or BB. Now if some other adults decide to come with us, we may purchase the option, since we will probably go to PI one night in addition to one of the water parks.

I hate to say it, but I really miss the old Park Hopper passes. It was so much easier then, not to mention cheaper.

As the waterparks are not *parks*, you do not need the hopping option unless you want to hop between MK, Epcot, MGM, and AK.

We're debating about adding the water n more option onto our 8 day park hoppers for Thanksgiving. I know the kids would LOVE to go to TL, and we MAY go to DQ again (we went in 2004 ann DH & the kids loved it). But if the weather isn't warm enough, we've just wasted almost $200 on the option.

They always seem to alternate the water parks in September, yes its a pain but TL is a great park. Have a great time.
