Park Hopper question

not sure if this is the right place to ask, but my family has a trip planned for April 2022.my sister is joining us a few days after we arrive and she is thinking about getting a park hopper ticket. my question is can she get a park hopper for just one day or does it have to be for the whole trip? and if she gets it does every one else have to get it too? i know with the dining plan everyone on the reservation has to get it but not sure about park hopper tickets. any help is appreciated

Unless she wants to buy a one day park hopper pass separately from the multiple day pass, she will have to get park hopper for the entire number of days of the pass.

If the park passes are part of a package, then yes, everyone in that room would need to have park hoppers added if they are to be bought ahead of time. Unless WDW changes something in the future, you can just add the hopper to specific passes once on-site so just those that want them can have them added.
