If we do not get park hopper and have an adr will we still be allowed into what ever park our ts adr is in? There are many places in Epcot I would like to make adr's in but not if we cant get in w/out park hopper. We are staying over a week and I really do not think hopper is worth the extra cash we could put toward other things, like tips. lol How much is hopper per person anyway?

Nope.
If you do not get the Hopper option on your tickets and you want to eat at Epcot, you will have to make Epcot your park-of-choice for that day, i.e. ALL the days you want to eat in Epcot restaurants.

$45 per person. Only you can decide if it's worth the additional cost; or you can make your dining plans based on the park access you DO have.

Actually, because you are staying a week PH can make even more sense. It will give you freedom to bounce between parks. It can make the trip less frantic, you won't feel like we've gotta do it all today. So if you just want to go to Epcot for a meal or to see Illuminations, you can. We did both and have hit up to 3 parks a day with our Parkhoppers:
- Epcot was a make up for a rain day earlier in the trip
- MK because our 6yo asked to go there everyday (Toontown fan)
- MGM for dinner, Fantasmic and EMH

Especially if you are staying on site and can take advantage of EMH parkhoppers are really nice.

If you're not travelling with children perhaps its a bit less urgent. You can add PH option at anytime, so if you want to wait until you're in WDW or until you think you want to hop, just stop and guest services and they can help with that.

IMHO, it is most definitely worth the $45 pp to get the park hopper. It is great to have the ability to leave one park if it is too crowded. I find that park hopping is a lot of fun!

I guess you have sold me on the park hopper. We are going 7 days w/ my dh and 2 ds ages 7 and 17. Does anyone know if it is too cold for the water park in the beggining of December?

I think the weather is hit and miss at that time of the year. My Minnesota kids think it is always swim weather in Florida. They have a very high tolerance!

We always add the PH to our tickets... That way if you enter a park and it is extremely crowded, you can leave and go to another park. Not to mention some of the parks don't take a whole day to see what you need to see...

Park hoppers are a must for us too! DH doen't like spending the whole day at DHS, so we hop to somewhere else and usually have ADR's at a different resort/park since DHS food options are, to say the least, not the best. ;)

You'll regret not having a PH - esp when parks like AK close early, like at 5pm, and you're anxious to hit another park.

In Dec, water parks are hit and miss. I've been some years where we were in shorts and tanks while others I had to wear a winter coat and suck down hot chocolate to keep warm.

I would suggest waiting for waterpark and add it on at concierge when you arrive. that way you will know what the weather will be like during your vacation.

I would add PH's on now...but wait to add the Waterparks and More option until you get there.

Park hoppers are always the best decision in my mind. We get so tired of one park by lunchtime that we go to another for evening. Definitely worth the extra money and that will allow you to eat wherever you want - whenever!

I always get a park hopper. I would hate to be "stuck" in one park all day if the crowds were bad. With a hopper I'm able to bounce around as much as I want, and like you, can eat at more Epcot restaurants, where I usually hop to / from MGM with, since I really don't care for most of the restaurants there.

i totally agree. we are big park hoppers - and we LOVE to eat at epcot in the evenings.

We keep the water in all the slides and pools around 80F (27C) except for Shark Reef which does not have filters, pumps or heaters. What you want is a day that will be bright and sunny and preferably not windy.

If you go on a day that is heavily overcast you will not be able to take advantage of any radiant heating (from the sun) or on a windy day (especially with a dry wind from the North) you will get hit by wind chill.

But a day with the highs in the mid-50s or above which is sunny and calm most people (at least from Northern climates) should be comfortable.

If you are only planning to have one water park day you are much better off purchasing separate water park tickets.

If you buy the Water Parks Fun and More option to your MYW ticket it will cost $53.25 (including tax) per person, adult or child. It will add one WPF&M entry per day on the base or hopper ticket (but two entries on a one day ticket).

If you purchase one day water park tickets they cost $41.54 adult and $35.15 child.

This upgrade may be done at any Park (including water parks or TTC) ticket booth or Guest Relations Office. If it is on your room key it can also be done at the Resort Lobby Concierge.

(Note each person must have their own ticket. Even though it adds multiple entries to your ticket, you can only use one ticket for one person.)

I agree with everyone, the park hopper is a must, imho. For just a few extra dollars a day when you break it down, it is well worth it.
