Park Hoppe

Hi Everyone,

Family and I are going for a 5 day (really 4 full days and an afternoon on day of arrival) WDW trip in October. This is a first time for dad and kids (Mom went about 15 years ago - so effectively a first for her too).

We are planning on doing a park a day for the 4 full days and don't feel the need to see everything, though we will be putting together itineraries. We are staying at WL and have opted for the dining package.

My question - in this scenario would a park hopper option be useful? Due to the time v. things to do difference, I imagine one park would have more than enough for us to do in one day, and we could easily find a restaurant in the current days park to eat at, without going somewhere else for dinner.

Any thoughts?

Hi and welcome!!!!

This is our first trip since 1990, so I can appreciate your feelings!!! I started a newbie thread that may help: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1715551

After going back and forth, we opted for the park hopper. Here's our reasoning:

- It does give us many more dining options. I'm pretty sure that my kids wouldn't want to eat in the AK restaurants (although Boma sounds great to me!) But we've found so many restaurants that we all want; parkhoppers make that easy.

- In the event that one park is crowded, we can hop to another.

- We can do split days-- for example, to AK in the morning, but get back to the MK for the fireworks (since AK closes earlier than the others, at least in August when we'll be there.)

I'm not sure of the ages of your kids, but I would imagine that my kids will want to spend LOTS of time in the MK. Having park hoppers will enable us to see the other parks as well, but still spend lots of time at the MK.

From what I understand you can add them there if you decide you want them.

OK - Another question (Thanks for your replys) If I can add Park Hopper at a later time, can I add it, say, on day 4 of my 5 day stay for day 4 & 5? If we decide that the first 3 days we are fine with one park per day?

Thanks,

Revan

As I understand it: if you decide to add the PH, It will still be the same $45ish flat rate regardless of when you choose to add it on. So whether it's day 1 or or your last day, it will be the same cost.

I would definitely recommend the park hopper option. We were at WDW recently, it was very useful. One scenario was we were at MK all day, but Epcot was open til midnight. So we headed over there around 8 til the park closed. We were at WDW a short time and needed to get in alot of action. The PH helped with getting to see as much as possible. I wanted to see the Block Party parade at HS but the rest of my group needed to go to Epcot. So I was with them the majority of the day, then hopped on a bus and headed over to HS to see my parade. The bus transportation worked great.
