Park hop with 6 year old?

Just so you are aware, park hopper add on is the same price regardless of the number of days. So adding it before your trip will be the same price as adding it two days into your trip.

If you all are the go hard with no rest breaks type of family, you should get park hoppers. It’s possible to run out of things to do in DCA if you rope drop and stay all day.

I was thinking 6 y/o could stay 8-4 or 5 - do you think that is too long? I'm adding in Redwood challenge, art drawing thing (cannot remember name), and breaks for lunch and snacks. I think she'll do every ride except Guardians and Inc coaster. We will pay IIL for RSR.

I agree with this. We have a hard time spending more than a few hours at DCA since our son doesn't care for shows/entertainment much, nor does he like the more thrilling rides. So we basically do Cars Land, Spiderman, Little Mermaid, Toy Story, and Monsters Inc. We do enjoy some of the food choices here though.

I agree with this. We have a hard time spending more than a few hours at DCA since our son doesn't care for shows/entertainment much, nor does he like the more thrilling rides. So we basically do Cars Land, Spiderman, Little Mermaid, Toy Story, and Monsters Inc. We do enjoy some of the food choices here though.

It’s funny because we can and have spent all day in DCA without going to DL at all. Our teenager LOVES Animation Academy and our toddler could do Redwood Creek, Disney Jr Dance Party, and the Zephyrs on repeat for hours. But I know we are in the minority and have Keys so we don’t feel like we are missing anything when we don’t step foot in DL.

If your 6 year old is really into drawing it’s possible to do more than one Animation Academy class (they draw different characters each class). One class will take you between 20-30 minutes between waiting in the queue, getting seated, and then actually drawing. I can’t remember, are you doing Genie+ or just doing ILLs? If you’re using Genie+, you’re going to get through everything pretty quickly, especially if you’re skipping Incredicoaster and GG.

You will be shocked at how easy it is to get around DL and DCA. I once walked all the way from Galaxy’s Edge (furthest point) in DL to Pixar Pier (furthest point) in DCA at the end of the night so my boys could ride incredicoaster back to back before close. Step wise it would have been the same amount of steps going from Be our Guest in MK to the nearest bus stop. I once had to carry a 5 year old that entire length … lol

Things can get very conjested mid day in Fantasyland and the main thoroughfare in DCA. DL proper does not have as wide of walkways due to when it was built.

Everything is much, much more compact at DLR than at WDW. Unless you plan to do some longer table service meals, it’s very likely you’ll run out of things to do in DCA if there are no major rides down for extended periods of time, especially if you’re using Genie+.
